bread

hi,

if i want to lose 2kgs but still have bread in my meals. what's the best? have read diff articles n confused btw whole wheat, whole grain and wholemeal. some even suggest sourdough and pita wrap.

You have to read the labels carefully as many "whole wheat" berads still have a lot of white flour in them as well as sugars and oils containing transfatty acids, which we now know are extremely bad. In the US labels are required to list the ingredients in order of their content in the product. Many breads that are labelled whole wheat contain more white (sometimes called refined or enriched) flour than whole wheat flour. There are some breads that are reduced calorie breads and contain a large percentage of "non-nutritive fiber". These are a good choice if you want to get the taste of bread without the calories as most of the bulk of the product is undigestable and just passes somewhat harmlessly through your digfestive system.
