Hey everyone,

Well, I have said beforethat I want to lose weight and look better. I "tried" but then, I would wake up on Sunday morning, and low-and-behold... The parent's decide to take a trip to Dunkin' Donuts and bring back some glazed donuts, and some of sugar coated, and even some with chocolate toping... I have always given up. But this time, I am really serious. I am not happy with myself. I honestly can't really enjoy too much in life because my weight is always in the back of my mind. So now, I want to do something about it. Summer is coming, and it is my Senior year. We all know what that means :D But even more than that, I am starting this new chapter in my life, and I deserve to be happy.

So, I am going to start recording my "journey." I would gladly accept any advice. Any thing you would reccomend me do, or do differently. And I would even love some information on different exercises because I am not very knowlegable in this area.

-Brandon

My Info: 18 years old 6'2" and 240lbs

Well... update tiiime. I have fallen victim once again. Tonight, I at apple dumplings with ice cream, a box of marshmallow peeps, and a bag of licorice... Is it ever going to end, ahhhh. I dont know how you all have the will power to not do this like I do...

Hi BJ; I have 18 year old twins. You guys still have that youth growth hormone being released until you're about age 21, so it's amazing what guys your age can shovel down and not gain! But one of my sons is a bit heavier and he does love his junk food. Sugar is so damn evil. Sugar begets sugar. The more we eat, the more we want. So if you're able to cut it out for maybe 6 days, you might notice you stop craving it.

Oh gawd, that would be brutal if people in my household brought Dunkin' Donots home!! That does present an extra challenge for you. But take heart. You have a lot of years ahead of you to practice developing healthy eating habits and even if you cut out one sin food at a time, you're on the right road. Changing eating habits take time. Good for you for rising to the challenge!!!! Go BJ!

Wow, Surprising how one comment like that can motivate you. Thank you for the support, and tommorrow morning, let's try this again!

definitely - have fresh start on a new day hun. cut that sugar out and the cravings will go .. i have sugar cravings sometimes and its usually cos ive had a sugarry cereal for breakfast or whatever. i dont eat nearly as muc hnow ive cut it out cos i just dont feel hungry for sugar. try eating more protein to fill you up.

Hi Brandon,
Welcome to the WLF and to your diary!

Yes, when you go back to old ways of eating, you just need to jump back on the wagon as quickly as possible. Hopefully, those falls will happen less often.

Success breeds success, the better you do, the more you lose, the more you lose the more inspired you are to keep losing.

But YOU have to be ready to do this. I know when I "woke up" to the fact that I wanted to lose weight, it was with the conviction that "This weight IS coming off." You CAN do it :)

How you doin' BJ? Haven't heard from you for a few days and hope you have a really nice weekend.
Hugs

Well, I have decided to give this another try. I have really cut down on the junk food. I am not really eating any at all. I joined a gym, which I am going to start this weekend, so I am excited for that. I will keep you guys posted on the progress. And thanks for your kind words. If any of you have journals, please post them, thanks!

Sounds like you have a good plan, Brandon. Cutting out the junk food will make an enormous difference in your life, as will going to the gym regularly.
