bracelet of commitment

I have found a strategy that helps with weight loss psychologically, so I thought I would share. I call it a "bracelet of commitment". Wear something like a bracelet or anything to symbolize your commitment to losing weight. I simply just wear a hair tie around my wrist. It will be a constant reminder of your goals. So every time you think to reach for junk food you will see the bracelet and be reminded. Acknowledging this it will help prevent you from cheating on your diet.

It greatly helps with those emotional eating times. The times when we want to eat when we aren't really hungry. Seeing that bracelet will remind you to do something instead of eating at those moments.

Hope this will be helpful, as it has sure worked for me.
 
Cool idea :)

a variant I am thinking of: get a bracelet or something as a reward after losing 20 lbs or some other goal... then remember how it felt everytime I look at it so that I am motivated to continue! Ha! I think I'll do it when I reach under 200 (am currently 218, was 228 when I becan), so that I remember the weight loss and keep going... also as a reminder never to let myself get over 200 again :D

I hate that I turned this into a post about me =/ But I guess now people have two ideas to chose from hihi
 
I actually have two tattoos that serve the same purpose. I have the chinese symbol for 'dream' one one arm, and the one for 'determination' on the other. Helps to remind me what I am doing this for, and what it takes to get where I want to be.

Nice. Nothing like a tattoo to remind us of something :D I would imagine one would feel kinda bad if someone asked one what it meant and we hadn't respected it =/ It makes our commitment that much more concrete :)
 
yeah this definately works. id love a tatto to remind me not to get fat again. Sometimes i write 'commit' on my hands to remind me not to eat things I shouldn't and also remind me what im suffering for :]
 
I like y'all's ideas...I also read in a magazine a tip about wearing 8 bangles, symbolizing glasses of water to drink. You just move one to the other wrist after having a glass. Might help keep u hydrated and therefore u eat less...but could be noisy! lol
