Brace yourself, the fat loss journey has just begun!

Hello, my name is Hugo, I hope you're all good! I had already started a journey some years ago and I had a thread on this very forum, a thread which lasted something like 1-2 years where I had successfully lost 45 kgs ( 100 pounds ), I went from 235 to 154 lbs which was rather unhealthy to be honest, I am 176 cm (5ft7) and I did not feel great when I was 154 lbs ( 70 kgs for 176 cm ), at that time I was extremely active, walking several hours a day for 6 months, so I lost pretty fast, but I was inactive in the "real world", now for some months I have entered a new school in order to become an electrician, but I guess stress & cie didn't suit me well because I gained some pounds of fat, I felt the best at 83-85 kgs ( 189 lbs ).

My goal at first was to lose fat and I went from 235 lbs to 189 lbs and kept weight for at least 5-6 more months before I start again to work, now I am at 200 lbs (91.4 kgs) and not only would I like to lose fat (possibly a good 11 lbs/5kgs) but now I also want to turn my fat into muscle, my parents got myself two sets of dumbbells.

A friend of mine is gonna write me a program on how to muscle the pecs, abs, triceps, biceps, chest, shoulder and back with these two efficiently. I am gonna follow that program 3 days a week. I am hoping to lose weight and gain muscle, these will be useful for my job, I need to be in a good physical condition.

Here some pics of me I took this morning, side + front + the weight I weighed in this morning:

I am impatient to see the old faces, I remember a lot of good people in here, cate, MrVee. Suz & cie :)

Everyone have a good day, and good luck to everyone in their journey!

PS:excuse my english, it may not be perfect but I am French. Sometimes when I get tired I may be sloppy with syntax and vocabularies. :iamwithstupid:

Ran 1 km over 9 minutes 57 ( it was only going up so it was pretty hard) bofore that I ran 1.5 km in 9 minutes 42. That's a good training, but I would like to know how can I post my runtastic stuff in here.

I don't think there is a way to directly import your data from your app to this site. I will often copy and paste from the site where I track my training (Fitocracy)

Hi Hugh(Hugo?), welcome back & Happy New Year! I seem to remember you have a very physical job. Do you eat any breakfast these days? I can't imagine going off to work on an empty stomach. I would find it helpful to continue on from an old diary, but many people start afresh with a new one, as you have. I think it's a good idea to go back over what you once did as you learn from it. Occasionally I will go back & read the early days of my diary, just to remind myself how far I have come.
Don'r apologise for your English. It is very good & I am sure is much better than my French. Welcome back!

Hello Cate, hope you had a good evening :) Hm, I usually eat one chocolate croissant when I arrive at work, but that's it, before that I have a 15 minutes bicycle drive to my work. Well, my older diary is associated with another account which I do not use anymore.

Have a good day! :)

Thanks Jastin, don't hesitate to start your own diary as it is very helpful !

Weighed in at : 90.6 kgs (198lbs)
but then my machine says something like ' ball ' so I cannot take a picture, anyone knows what it means? I don't even have the time to take a picture, once it weights it writes " ball " or at least that's what I read lul. Stupid technology, I need a no-electronic device ( coming from an electrician...^^)

The battery was not working properly, changed it, I am glad I don't have to buy a new one.

This morning's weight :

Good morning everyone !

Thanks Cate :) Holiday's ended, I spent my last day moving my stuff again to my flat, back to my work, I just weighed in, I am glad to be back in my flat because the ground is flat so the scale is more accurate, now I know what weigh I really am.

Hi Hugo.

Thanks for posting.

Your story and body shape is pretty similar to mine.

What worked for me was the Paleo diet.

It's been a long journey but i figured out what works and what doesn't (for me)

I share my experiences on my blog. Drop by any time.

Welcome back Hugo. You can get a lot done with dumbbells. The key will be to lose the weight at a slow but steady pace, while continuing to lift and workout. That gives you the best chance of losing fat and gaining or at least preserving muscle while you lose weight.

Because I had SO much weight to lose, for the first half of it I lost so quickly that I had to lose some muscle mass in the process. The good news is it does eventually come back once the weight loss slows.

Keep up the great work, and good luck on the electrician school.

Great advice from Vee Hugo. I like that you said the slight gain is not worrying you. Once you know you're on the right path then there is only one way & that is forward. Cheers, Cate
