Body type question!

Hey everybody,

I am new to fitness and in the past few months I have lost about 22lbs. I still have around 33lbs to go until I reach my goal of 145lbs.

My body shape could be considered as...top heavy. I have larger breasts but also arms and more of a belly, then skinnier legs on the bottom.

Does anybody know if this will even out as I go on to lose more weight? It's frustrating when you want that perfect womanly shape and you look a bit like me!

Is there a specific workout that I can do to target these problem areas? (chest, tummy and arms).

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!! :)

33lbs will make a huge difference in how you look; it may just simply be how your body holds it's weight; You'll most likely find your body will even out more as you near your goal.

You could also always work on your legs to get them bigger =) Squats and Leg Press!

Unfortunately body shape is largely genetic, and spot reduction seems to be a myth. Your body will keep shape where it wants to (if I could, I'd swap you some of your breasts for some of my chubby thighs!)

Have you looked at advice on how to dress people in different sizes? Trinny and Susannah (formerly of "What Not to Wear" in the UK) have a guide (there's a book, but much of the info is available online) for people of various shapes (and not just the standard apple/ pear)

Thanks for the response! I'll give you some of my boobs haha, no problem - gotta downsize these babies.

I am learning how to dress for my body type, and I know that once I lose all the weight my boobs will become smaller...actually, all of me will! So I guess I will complain when i've reached my goal weight and still am top heavy.

For now, I should shut up hehe ;)
