Body Pump

Hi all,

I'm a newbie on this site and I'm wondering if anyone can help.

I recently joined my local gym and have started Body Pump classes. I'm also dieting and have managed to lose a few pounds. However, as Body Pump is about lifting weights, I'm afraid that the fat will turn to muscle and I won't be be lean, just bulky. I weigh 177lbs.
Can I do both? Whats more effective for me? I carry a lot of weight around on my tummy area.
 
fat is fat and muscle is muscle fat isn't going to morph into muscle...

however, if you want definition, shedding the layer of fat thru healthy eating habits is what you want to do...

keep trackof your calories ina program like
