BMI is a tool that is often
used to determine whether
a person’s health is at risk
due to his or her weight.
It is a ratio of your weight
to your height. A BMI of
18.5 to 24.9 is considered
healthy, a BMI of 25 to 29.9
is considered overweight,
and a BMI of 30 or more is
considered obese. You can
find your BMI using the chart
below, and you can also
see the weight range that is
healthy for your height.:nopity:

BMI is outdated, and was a poor measurement to begin with. It leaves out pretty much every vital bit of information about an individual, and doesn't take important aspects of people into account.

Additionally, this information is already available on this forum, in countless posts and also in the stickies. If you want to add information that is fine, but there is no need to post things that have been posted over and over already.

The World Health Organization has defined in 1997 this body mass index as the standard for assessing adult risks related to overweight. It has also defined standards intervals (thin, normal index, overweight, obesity) based on the statistical relationship found between BMI and mortality.
