body fat

which would be more accruate at finding your body fat percentage: the electronic body fat mesurers or the calipiers better knows as pinchers? they am both fairly cheap.

in the hands of professionals, underwater weighing, electronic measurement, and calipers all come back with near the same results. Electronic is the most common easiest reliable test

I have an electronic scale that does my weight, body fat, and water percentage. i love it it only takes a few seconds and is supposed to be within .2% of your actual body fat with an underwater test. I got it off of e bay for like 30 bucks they are selling on there brand new all the time for pretty cheap. I would highly reccomend one!

sadly, those Tanita 'bio electrical impedance' scales are NOT that accurate. I can lose 4% body fat in 8 hours, just by drinking a lot of water.

They're not a bad way to watch trends in body fat lost or gain, but I wouldn't call them accurate, unless +/- 4% bodyfat is an acceptable range (hint hint, its not!)

and yes, I have a Tanita.

yeah, but you still can't reliabley do your own skin fold test. how can you both pinch the skin on the arm, and run the calipers, without distortign the angle and thus not getting a valid result?

granted, there are probably a few 4pt methods that'll get you within 2% of your true bodyfat, and as long as you were consistent, you'd be able to use it to see trends.

also, always test before you do any physical activity.
