body fat %-- setting goals?????

I am trying to set goals for fat % lost. I don't even know what is achievable. I am 227lbs and 46.5% fat. I will be weight training 3 days a week and cardio 3-4 days a week along with a change in my diet. What types of goals should I set? My end goal will be to lose about 70 lbs. but I need a shorter goal for like 10 weeks. Any suggestions? how much body fat % can you lose in a week... etc.

Unless you are "clipping" yourself (using calipers), you won't be able to really tell how much fat percentage you are losing. Your schedule looks good. Shoot for a 1 pound decrease in bodyweight weekly. I tend to say "screw the scale" but when a person is overly obese, the calipers won't give you an accurate reading.

Your best bet it to keep track of how your clothes are fitting and take pictures. But shoot for the 1 pound a week of weight loss.
 
You are on the right track in making short terms goals to shoot for. Maybe say 10lbs in 10 weeks. Definately attainable. Maybe add a strength or cardio challenge. 10lbs would be about 5% bodyweight, right?
 
I just FINALLY got my calipur today.

Anyways, it a strange one. It apparently only needs to take ONE single place fold. Anyways, I think it's off. According to it I apparently have about like 6% body fat. TOTALLY off. Damnit, there goes 32 bucks. >_<''
