Hello everyone!
I've been on a diet for 2 months now, eating at 1000 calories deficit and managed to lose almost 10kg of weight (mostly fat, but burnt some muscles too :( ). At first, my BMR was 2319 calories, but with selected weekly activity level (active 3-5 times per week), my BMR was calculated to be 3594 calories (as per ). I ate about 2500 calories daily. Like said, I lost 10 kg in 2 months.

Now my weight loss stopped. I recalculated my BMR and entered new parameters (instead of 109kg I am now at 99kg). My BMR is now said to be 2182 calories and 3382 calories with selected activity level. I am still eating at 1000 calorie deficit and I am now at 2300 calories per day.
I am doing the same as I did in the beginning. Why is now my weight loss stopped? I haven't loss a kilogram in 2 weeks. It seems I'm stuck at 99kg.
Can anyone help me out?
Any advice?
Have I slowed down my metabolism? What am I doing wrong?
Is my BMR much lower and I'm unawarely eating too many calories?

Thanks.

For how long has your weight been stalled? You could experience a couple of stalls, but if they last longer than 2 - 3 weeks then that's a problem.

What you can do if first make sure you track everything as accurately as possible. If possible, buy a food scale and weight your food instead of using measure cups. And log everything! Any sugar, oil, added stuff.

Another thing you can do is to watch your sodium intake. It can cause water retention and weight can vary a lot by that.

If that doesn't work you may need to drop your calories a bit further. But you're already at a very big deficit and and that weight you should be losing fat. so try it first before making any drastic changes.

re: metabolism.
Your metabolism can slow down while losing weight, but not to that extent, no. Hormones can only compensate for so much, and cannot offset a big deficit on its totality.

Good luck.

Happy to say that I've managed to lose my weight and met my target few days ago. It was a real struggle, but totally worth it. I did use this bmr calculator and it helped me a lot, but at the end of the day your body will tell you exactly how many calories you need and how many you should burn. With weight loss one shouldn't be hesitant. You need to make weight loss a routine and eventually you will start to understand your body. Then you will not need any tools or programs to lose weight.
Hope this helps.! Jan
