BMI calculator?

Okay, so I tried one of these things on the internet. Not acurate I'm sure but I have a question. I am 6'-2" 192lbs. Acording to the calculator my BMI was 24.6. The chart says that BMI for 'normal wieght' is 18.5-24.9. So I decided to have some fun with this thing. Acording to this, If I wieghed 150lbs I would have a BMI of 19. If you ask me...a 150lbs male that is 6'-2" is not healthy at all. When I was younger I was always very skinny, "the skinny kid". The last time I wieghed 150lbs I was 5'-10" and very skinny, so to me, that just does not sound right. If I wieghed 150lbs today, that would not be good. Any thoughts on my findings?

BMI calculators dont take into account the percentage of fat or muscle you have, so they arent very accurate for judging a healthy weight. Body fat percentage would be much more accurate, but any online calulator for that is probably way off.

Well then, I guess my thoughts were correct. I thought that it was B.S. the first time I played with it. I just hear alot of people talking about BMI everywhere so I thought I would check it out. Seems like a joke to me now. Any guy over 6' tall will probably tell you that any type of standard system for measuring anything regarding wieght is just a crock of sh__ anyways.

It really isn't bull, considering it is the national standard. And it actually does a decent job of measuring the average and overweight person. That said, since it does not take body fat into the equation, someone who has built up muscle, such as Lee or myself, would be considered overweight/obese.
