Bloodshot Eyes/Delayed Muscle Problem

I'm an in-shape 25 year old male and I've started to work out seriously again at the gym after a long hiatus. One thing that bothers me (and bothered me years ago when I used to work out at the gym) is how bloodshot my eyes get after lifting weights. There's even a vein near my eye that busted (?) or something a week ago and although it's faded in color, it's still a noticeable red vein in my eye. I don't want to be hurting my eyes nor cause permanent red veins in my eyes, either.

My eyes don't hurt nor do I detect any problems with my vision. Still, is this normal??? My friends who work out don't seem to have this problem.

Also, whenever I work out with my friends, they feel sore the next day but I never do, I always feel sore on the SECOND day after I work out. Is this normal???

Any advice would be appreciated.
 
About the soreness (delayed onset muscle soreness - DOMS) - that's no problem. It's individually when and if you get it.

About the eyes - I have the same problem in the end of my work out cycle, only when lifting heavy weights. Especially when doing heavy dead lifts and squats. I would also appreciate if someone could comment on this.
