Blah, blah, blah... plateau... blah, blah, blah

Ok. So. I'm 22 years old, 5'6, 186lbs. According to most sources, my ideal weight is around 140 to 155.

I started playing soccer in a league when I was about 8 and continued until I was 17, so I played very regularly (3-4 times a week). When I was 17, I started running 5k's, and ran every day 3-4 miles.

However, I've never been "fit". I've always fluctuated from slightly chubby to fairly chubby. I try to eat balanced meals, lots of veggies, etc. But I never see any results.

Lately, I've been playing racquetball, usually between 45 minutes to an 1.5 hours. I've reduced my calories to around 1500 a day.

So, less calories, more activity. I should be losing weight, right?

But I'm not.

Advice?

How long is "lately"? For less than a month, be patient. For more than a month, be suspicious of how well you're counting calories.

Lately has been for about a month. Before that, though, I would typically eat the same, just once every other week or so, I'd stop off for fast food.

So, basically, I cut out the occasional junk food and started exercising daily (mostly cardio, some light lifting). Plus, I've always been fairly active and have eaten well, but I've always carried a few extra pounds.

So, obviously, I need to change something, but don't know what.
