Ok so has anyone read any of the Black Dagger Brotherhood books?? Its like a paranormal vampire romance/modern action series. It sounds so lame but I have become absoloutely obsessed with these books and their characters. The author is JR. Ward--Please if youve read them let me know what you think, I might be going crazy for as much as I love these books! Lol

Sounds dark. Are you typically into dark things or does this new obsession come from you discovering this particualr side of yourself? :reddevil:

Lol, I guess Ive always just been fascinated by vampires and stuff--lol I dunno--Im not into twilight, but I guess im not completely innocent :Angel_anim:

I haven't but I used to read all the Necroscope series of books by Brian Lumley (or something close to that.) - vampires and psychic espionage and stuff. I read lots of books that I think are amazing but sound ridiculous when I explain them. Robin Hobb's Liveship series is probably the best example. You tell people you are reading a book about talking ships and they think Tomas the tank Engine, not one of the best book series ever (but it is, Robin Hobb is amazing.) I usually read fantasy stuff with dragons and elves and crap, but I do like me a good vampire book.

I wouldn't touch Twilight because a: Im not a teenage girl. b. vampires shouldn't have mormon values - thats just ridiculous.

There are mormon values in Twilight??? Haha I never would have guessed, my mother actually took the initiative to buy me that book for christmas and except for a few skeptical moments paging through the book it still sits on my shelf unread, im sure once the hype dies down I'll read it in a couple of years just for kicks.

I've always been into weird fantasy stuff too, but vampires have always just held my interest Im also a HUGE fan of the Ann Rice Novels and some by Christopher Pike (normally a weird writer, but I like a few of his books)-I'll have to check out the books that you've mentioned, I could go for a good read these days!

Black Dagger Brotherhood

Hi --

I stumbled across this site and your post when I was searching blogs for other Black Dagger Brotherhood fans. I just started/finished reading this series in February, and I am dying to discuss this with someone.

None of my friends will read them...not into romance, much less paranormal romance. Neither was I until someone recommended these because I loved the Twilight Series by Stephenie Meyer.

Anyway, I just had to respond to say that I was completely addicted to these books. I fell into the whole world of the brotherhood and was really sad when I finished the last book. I feel like the brothers actually exist! I know...Crazy! But I'm not the only one. There are a bunch of videos on YouTube that people have made where they cast movie actors in the role of each brother. It's pretty crazy. And there's a forum called GoodReads, where there's a bunch of Black Dagger Brotherhood fan groups.

Anyway, I just wanted to respond and say that I too LOVE these books. There's a new one coming out on April 28. In the meantime, you also might like Kresley Cole's Immortals After Dark. She's the only author that comes close to J.R. Ward in my opinion. I've tried some other paranormal romance authors based on suggestions I've read online, but nobody comes close to Ward except Cole. I love both of their series.

Terry
