I decided it was time for me to post some befores and in-betweens. (Afters coming ASAP! :) ) I am 24 (will be 25 in a little over a week), and 5'4". My starting weight is 194.8 lbs. My goal is 125, to be reached sometime in 2011, hopefully in the summer. I want to be able to wear a bikini with confidence!!

I was a normal weight until I was about 10 years old. By then I had ballooned up to 119 lbs. I was the fat kid. It sucked. My parents were smart enough to enroll me in a special medical weightloss group for kids in our area, and I got down to somewhere around 90 or 95 lbs by the time I was 11. When I was 14 I weighed around 135, gained weight freshman year of high school to 150. The rest of high school I yo-yoed between 135 and 150. In college, summer of 2005, I dieted yet again but for the first time I added exercise, specifically the treadmill and dumbbells. I got down to 135 again, but for the first time I dropped down to a size 8. Before that I was always around a size 12, no matter what I weighed. That is the magic of weight lifting. After that I felt phenomenal, but I wanted to lose a little more and never did. I just started to feel too good and let it get away from me. Eventually, I stopped eating right and exercising, and by the time I was married in early 2008, I weighed about 160. Fast forward to July 2009 and I was shocked to discover I weighed 194.5! I dieted and lost about ten lbs that year, but slowly gained it back again. So, I started for hopefully the last time on June 22, 2010 at 194.8 lbs.

I am on Weight Watchers and I exercise occasionally by using my elliptical machine and the same dumbbell exercises as before. I am also on a dance team that meets once a week to practice for about 3 hours. I know I need to exercise more.

I haven't measured myself in awhile, but I have lost several inches since I started again in June, especially around my stomach. I will post my total inches lost so far soon. I also have went from a size 16 to a 12. From looking at the pictures, it doesn't seem that much of a difference but maybe it is just me. I appreciate any feedback, but please be kind. I am going to keep posting new pictures as I progress toward my goal, and I hope to be an inspiration to others once I get there. Everyone else's pics have definitely inspired me, so I hope I can help someone out there!

Thanks for stopping by, and good luck with meeting your own goals!

I am posting my before's in this post, and then I will post my next set of pics in the next post because there is a limit apparently.

I forgot to say the before's in the above post were taken 6/22/10 and I weighed 194.8. The pictures in this post were taken 10/13/10 and I weighed 175.4.

And I also wanted to say that this is NOT my dream bikini or anything, just the only one I had lying around, which is why it doesn't even match! :p And I didn't have a full-length mirror for the before's, so sorry about that.

Hey wow thanks for posting, its encouraging to see that you are meeting your goals,

I like you have always felt fat, ever since I was 13 or 15... I'm trying to figure out a way that I can become healthy (a proper BMI) and maintain it, while accepting myself no matter what I look like haha.

Its a challenge but it looks like you're doin it! I can see a big difference keep up the good work and I'll be checking up on you for updates!!

Wow!! Look at you! Way to go! You can really see the difference. I finally took some before shots....I've never done so in the past. Hope I can see changes soon too.

Keep it up girl! So happy for you :)

Yeah, me too. It's a hard balance. I have high expectations for myself, but my plan is when I get near/at my goal weight I will reaccess and make sure I know what I want for myself. At that point I will decide how to move forward, like either pushing myself for more or realizing that I'm happy with what I've done so far. I want to be able to live a healthy life and take care of myself, but I don't want to have foods that are on a "never can eat again" list. I will let myself indulge occasionally, just I've done so far during my weightloss. Otherwise, I would go off the deep end!

Thanks! This is my first time taking before pictures too. I really think it's the best way to see a change in yourself, from beginning to end. I can't believe I had the nerve to do them in a bikini and actually post them! I remember when I weighed 135 and for one summer I actually wore a bikini to some water parks. My fiance (husband now) took some pictures of me and I wouldn't let him show them to anyone! I just kept picking myself apart and only seeing everything that was wrong. This time around, I'm proud of my weightloss. Good luck to you.

Great job so far!

Yes as we all here know, it's very hard and takes tremendous dedication and commitment. Also a whole lot of patience! I am losing it slowly. I'm shooting for 1 to 2 lbs a week. But I feel that's the best way for me personally to lose it, because I am getting there in baby steps wihout making huge drastic changes that I can't keep up with. That way hopefully I can maintain my goal weight for life. My track record for maintenance has not been good so far as you can see. Thanks for taking the time to post! I can't wait until I've lost some more weight to take my next set of pictures!

Hey there!! Thanks for posting! It's remarkable how our stories line up. I too am 24, 5'4". I had always been fit and at a normal weight until I was 18. From there, I went from 130s/140s to my highest weight at 185 pounds. It was a combination of things - not exercising, eating horrible...moving away to university. My goal is 125 pounds too!

Right now I am sitting at around 160 pounds. I would love to make it to be 125 by next summer...I hear you on the bikini thing! I have never been able to wear one in my adult life...and I would love to feel confident and proud of my body! Great work so far!! You really do look amazing!

I can't wait to see your progress. It will definitely motivate me knowing we are on very similar paths, and have similar goals! :)

You are making great progress so far! I bet you'll have no problem getting bikini ready by next summer!

Yea! I can really see the difference! I just love the supportive community here! I am building a weight loss guide of my own for 2011, so just know that someone out there is working at fitness success right along with you! ^_^

Thanks everyone!

I have taken two months off (not planned, just fell off the wagon) but now I'm back. I've only gained a two or three pounds since I was last here. Time to refocus and start losing again!

Hey,

Well done, you are doing so well!

We both are quite similar in starting weight and goal weights.

Keep up your hard work! :)
