Bigadrian's Vegas weight loss

I used to browse the site but now decided I want to take a more active approach in my weight loss. I've been heavy most of my life with my max at 485 three years ago. I lost close to 100 pounds while living in Santa Cruz, CA by working out and eating right. I moved to Las Vegas two years ago and with full time school and work put my health to the back of my mind (Big Mistake). I didn't gain much weight back, but I feel less healthy than before. I've then decided to put my health back in focus and achieve my ultimate goal of 260 pounds. (I'm 6'6" and have a decent amount of muscle so this seems like a good goal) I try to eat right which can be tough in this town, but I must focus and improve my activity levels. I'm gonna weigh myself tomorrow and keep my journal updated to help track my transformation.

Hey Adrian! We're in similar situations. I'm in the 6'6"-7" area. I maxed out at 355 before I realized I needed to change my life. I'm down to 288 right now. Aiming for 235 as my goal weight. We'll see what happens and my goals will adjust as I lose the weight. My biggest tip of advice would be to make a lifestyle change. Don't just go on a diet. Create a new healthier lifestyle that you can continue for the rest of your life. It won't matter how fast the weight drops... because it will be for life!

Thanks

Yeah, making it a lifestyle change is definitely the key. I try to take pleasure in the fact that Im more active and losing weight, rather than focusing on what I cant have.

Hey there,
I just started this journey also, and guess where I started gaining all my weight... VEGAS! My husband and I got married and lived in Las Vegas for almost 2 years. We worked about 20 miles north of the city, outside of the AFB and had crazy hours. When we would head home we were both too tired to think about cooking, so we'd stop off at our favorite cheap buffet (Palace Station) and pig out. Then, of course, we were too tired to go to the gym, even though we had memberships at 24 Hour Fitness which was less than a block from where we lived.

Anyway, good luck to you. Motivation and dedication are the keys to your success. And, you already know how it feels to lose weight. Now just got to concentrate on the getting healthy part. Good luck. Looking forward to hearing about your adventures.
