Bicep Training

Hi All,

Im new around here so i thought id say hey and start off with my own Thread!

i would like to find out the best excersize for your biceps, Instead of doing regular bicep curls and hammer curls for my biceps i do a super set crossed with pyramid training.

30kg bicep curl 10 -12 reps

Drop to:

20kg Bicep curl 8 - 10 reps

Drop to:

10kg Bicep curl - 6 - 8

THEN

Hammer Curl: 20 reps - 7.5kg

3 sets of the above.

---- i am getting stronger with this but i wondered is there any other bicep type training that is best to do for toning / building muscle?

Your bicep is a tiny muscle compared to some of the others; why spend so much time on it? Focus on your pulling first for biceps and then add some iso stuff at the end if Bi’s are that important to you
 
Do some heavy rows and pullups, then finish off your biceps with some curls. Your biceps will be worked during any motion where you are pulling weight towards yourself. Don't waste so much time working a small muscle. By focusing on larger muscle groups, you'll trigger growth.
 
So when you do many of the other exercises for the larger muscles the smaller ones are already getting their workout.

It makes sense, especially to a new guy.

Yup. In addition, lifting heavy weights makes your body grow. I can row 60 lb dumbbells, but can curl only 30 lbs, which is going to cause more growth? Keep in mind that your body will not grow disproportionately, so it's not like you'll build a huge back and have tiny stick-figure like arms.
