Bicep Tendonitis?

About two months ago, while serving in tennis, I felt that I over stretched my bicep. I though nothing of it and continued playing and played a few days after that with a sore bicep.

However, even after not lifting or using my arm for 3 weeks, I still cannot pull at more that 80% without feeling a niggling in the lower bicep that I know would be painful if I moved nearer to 100% weight. And the next day, I can feel it when lifting things like my back pack.

I guess it's tendonitis as there wasn't one moment that the pain appeared, I just noticed it all of a sudden and it was definitely from the extension of my arm.

Any ideas as to what it is?

Is there any point in doing lifts that don't involved biceps i.e. leg machines, bench and military press?

Help would be appreciated.
Thanks

I wouldn't see a point in not doing things that didn't involve elbow flexion. What I did when I had the same problem-
aleve (anti inflammatory)
stretching
tons of high reps with elbow flexion exercises

Went away fairly quickly when I started doing that.

However...go see a sports medicine physician rather than advice on a forum

I have an issue that sounds very similar to yours only I don't play tennis. Low in the biceps, just above the bend in the arm

My 3x/week upper body workout consists of:
- 4 mph walk w/ 5lb hand weights
- push-ups x3 different hand positions
- chin-ups (this is where I notice it the most but I can still get through them with no problem)
- dips
- lat dumbbell raises
- front dumbbell raises

More in my right arm but it's slightly in the left too, the day after workouts it's very sore and the range of motion in slight. It's like I have to do arm stretches to do simple, light lifting. This is about the 3rd week It's been bugging me.
