Best way to cut?

I need some advice on cutting weight- about 10lbs. I take creatine and that's all. Plenty of water. No side affects whatsoever (cramps, dehydration, etc). I am staying on the creatine for now while cutting. I'm just going to describe my current cut and I'd like to hear some thoughts and constructive criticism:

*I'm about 5'8, male. 22yo.

*My weight bottomed out at 160 on August 14th, the end of my last cut.

*From that day until September 20th (~37 days), I did nothing but bulk, trying to get just enough calories, but not too many.

*I ate in the 2600-3200 range when bulking, depending on activity.

*On the morning of September 20th (this past Monday), I decided to go on a cut. My weight topped out at 170 that morning. The peak highest it's been in three months.

*My goal is to get back to 160 ASAP. I have very nice abs at that level, not at 170. I know I'm going to lose some muscle, but my thinking is that if I can drop the weight as quick as possible, I will avoid serious muscle loss.

*So that I'm not tearing my muscles down and then refusing to feed them, I have taken this past week out of the weight room. Is this good? I eat about 1200 calories and run as much as my knees will let me. I've lost 4lbs in 4 days. I'm 166 Friday morning after 170 on Monday.

*Here's the question: I can get back to 160 by mid next week (in 10-12 days total), but I've read it's better to lose fat slowly by running the **** out of yourself only 2/3 days and using that third day as a day to relax and get your body fueled up. Will this plan of mine save some of my muscle by not cutting every day and entering 'starvation mode', or is my current plan okay if I can drop the 10 pounds in 10-12 days and then bring back my calories and return to the weight room. I know that plan is probably better in the long run, but I want to get cut NOW. I don't have a month. Is it that much of a difference? I know a layoff never hurts (haven't really had many over the years), so I'm confused if the layoff loses it's luster because I'm not eating that much?

I know I had a lot of random musings and ramblings, but I hope the general point is understood; I want to drop 10lbs ASAP and want to know the best method. Thoughts?

ok, well first thing. you don't want to run until you knees can do no more lol. you also need to know that you should have a higher protein and a lower carb diet. this is so you can jump straight into fat burning. ok, to lose fat the best possible ways is to do some light wieght training or intense jogging to burn your stored carbs. maybe for half hour. then low intensity cardio to burn the fat off. if your constantly do intense cardio and try jog as far and hard as possible you'll probably burn as much musle with fat. so low intense cardio after half hour off high intense cardio would be best. also with creatine you should cycle it 4 weeks on 1 week off to get best results from it. because staying on the creatine and not cycling is not as effective an keeps the build up of water retention. also one thing, if you can still see your 4 pack, you should keep bulking. but if you can't yea you need to lose fat..Tony D

o yea another thing is if you still find yourself losing to much muscle cut back the high intense cardio for half hour to 15 mins. then long low intense cardio. i say 45 mins of low intense cardio to an hour.

So you are saying do some higher intense training to start off with: 15-30mins and then do the slow lower intensity. For example, you could run sprints for a bit, then a light jog after? Or jog and then ride a bike, because a job could be considered somewhat intense at any rate, I think.

your aim would be to burn all the stored energy you have in your system so you can use your fat as energy. to do this (high intense exercise) like sprinting, jogging or weights for 15 - 30 mins. then (low intense cardio) in between walking and power walking. now just remember i don't really know when all your stored energy is depleted but over my researching depending on the intensity of your exercise. it is depleted from half hour to an hour. Since i told you to have a higher protein diet and lower carb diet the energy stored in your body should deplete faster so you can jump straight into fat burning. to burn fat is to do low intense cardio after burning up your stored energy. if you used up your stored energy and still have a high intense exercise. you will use your muscle as energy instead of your fat.

sprinting, jogging or weights for half an hour. then fast walking for 45 mins. keep your heart rate at about 130 for low intense cardio.
