Best strengthing exercises for punches??

There is no 1 single exercise to help build power in your punch. You must strength train your whole body to become more powerfull.

Nor is there a group of KO punches. If you hit someone when they are not expecting it, when they are tired or very very hard then you will knock them out.

Just practice punching in general. You can practice slowly or quickly.

For slow punches, make sure you tense your arm throughout the entire motion to gain greater control over the punch.

For fast punches, just try to maintain control over the punch while doing it fast. Punching a target may help more too, but it doesn't really matter.

Breathing is very important. You should have fully exhaled when your arm is extended because this not only keeps your body oxygenated, but also tenses your muscles at the correct time i.e. on impact. You'll find that you won't throw any sort of decent punch unless your breathing is good. If you're throwing more than one punch with speed, try timing more punches to one longer exhalation.

guys guys guys.

The man was asking about specific exercises for strength, not everyones top random punching tips.
Anyway the question has been answered and guys not been online since he asked the question.

Lets not keep this rubish thread at the top of our great forum, if anyone wants to start a collection of training tips then they are more than welcome, I'm sure it will be very popular.

im sorry but thats the biggest bullcrap ive heard, as far as i know u are meant to relax ur biceps and tense ur triceps when punching, as u bring it back u relax triceps and contract biceps. thats why many kung fu classes start off with yoga cause u get more power into ur punches when u are relaxed and let ur energy flow through u

Wow, gunit's on the ball on this one. Yes, if you tense your arm, especially your delts, you're going to lose tons of power and speed.

GO ASK CHAMP THOMAS( boxing star of the past)

Here's some free advise, power & speed Aren't much good if your hands
aren't conditioned to take the impact, let alone the target moves & you plant
your punch into his forehead. Or you drop a hook on them & bust your little
finger &knuckle.( it's very hard to make a fist with a brokern little finger) I
worked in an operating theatre for yrs. Proove my point hypotheticially you did this little test ( AND MY SINCERE ADVISE IS YOU DON"T') Someone
punchs a brick wall with their fist full on. Then with the other hand they did
palm heal strike to the same wall. WHAT DO YOU THINK would be the outcome....... The PUNCHING HAND would be begging you to take it to
the closest emergency ward... The DRIVING PALM HEAL HAND would be saying " Man that walls hard shaken up a little, WOW didyou see that PUNCH
PLOUGH INTO IT reckon its going to be ! DOA! dead on arrival. Champ Thomas has some great hand & bone strengthing exercises in his book
" Boxing's dirty tricks &outlaw killer punches" CHAMP Jay THOMAS fought over 60yrs,& had over 10,000 bouts. Fairdinkum cobba:)
