Best quick meal before lifting?

Hey everyone,

I lift early, around 8 a.m., and I don't really have time to have a meal and then wait an hour.

What is the best quick meal that will let me have a good session? Any fruits?
 
a whey shake. problem with fruit is its fructose, which has to be processed by the liver before it can be used for energy.

I'd just do the shake for now at least, to prevent muscle catabolism during your workout. Fasted exercising is never wise.
 
yep. something like cottage cheese and a fast digesting sugary carb...potatoes would work.

just keep the fat intake post workout as close to zero as possible.
