Beginning the journey...

Hey steve,

Good job on starting a diary, way to hold yourself accountable :)

Im sure you already have, but have a really good read through all the stickied threads....

Also, huge congrats on your loss to date..47lbs is awesome.

Good luck :D

:seeya:

Wow, that is some amazing progress in just under 3 months! Great job and keep up the work! VERY motivational! VERY!

Online classes can be as cumbersome as classes in a classroom. Especially since you walk from your kitchen to your computer etc. I found when I was in class and was exercising, that if I exercised first and then did homework, I had more energy to complete the work and was more attentive etc.

But, congrats on all of your successes and keep up the great work!

I'm 19 and have been fat my whole life. I always hated it, but just kind of fell into the position of "the big guy". Well, the big guy just kept getting bigger and bigger until I hit 355.4 in January.

I have two young kids (almost 2 and 6 months), and I want to be able to play with them with energy. I decided to turn my life around on Jan. 7 by changing my eating habits and exercising. I keep track of everything I eat in a notebook and count calories in VS. calories out. The results amaze me! I wish I had known the simple math years ago(I had accepted that I was born to be the fat guy).

My goal is to hit 200 and bulk up the muscle mass (I know that muscle gain and fat loss are difficult to do together, so for now I'm focused on losing fat and toning muscle).

If anybody has any suggestions or motivational tips, let me in on them! :waving:

1/7------355.4
1/14-----347.8
1/21-----339.1
1/28-----334.6
2/4------331.0
2/11-----326.0
2/18-----323.2
2/25-----320.2
3/4------316.6
3/11-----312.8
3/18-----308.4

You're clearly on the right track, keep on it.

Also, I love your work with Iron Maiden.

hahaha glad im not the only Maiden fan here :)

And as for being 'the big guy' i think a lot of us fall into that somehow. I was 'the fat sister' for many years. My sister came back from Switzerland only to find out that she was now 'the fat sister', though to be fair she was only chubby :)

Good work on the weight loss, and remember not to stress about lack of exercise too much. Diet is 90% of the work :)

Great Job on your great start
I was 336 last summer and am at 283 right now.
You are a young pup and probalbly have a big metabolism but as you progress your body may (if it was like mine) kinda try to hang on to the weight. You might want to think about exercising regularly I am working on my doctorate so I know how hard the school thing makes it. I have to get up at 5:15 to get mine in and let me tell you that has been hard to get used to but now I like it. Anyway good luck and good work...stay focused on whats important dude. Live to play with your grandkids someday too!

4/1------303.4(-2.4)
total loss-------52.0

Well, this has been my worst week so far. I'm not quite sure how to respond to my number....I guess I had to expect it. I'm going to try to make up for it over the next week.

Hey,

How to respond? Be happy!!! A loss is a loss..and 2.4lbs is a good loss at that!!
I remember the weeks when I lost 1lb, or nothing at all..it happens..it sucks!!...but it happens..aslong as you keep on truckin it doesnt matter in the long run :D

Overall, I'm pretty proud of myself. Fifty-two pounds is more weight than I ever expected to lose in three months. :D

Hell dude, im proud of you!!!! 52lbs in any space of time is awesome..let alone 3 months!!!!!!!

Keep it up :hurray:

Wow you are rockin man! You will likely pass me on your next weigh in (I am at 54lbs of loss) but I have been at it since halloween. I remember when I was young and had a big metabolism. Just be careful when you get to goal because it can jump back on really really fast. Get a good level off plan when you get there.

OUT OF THE 300s! CAN I GET A HELL YEAH?!?!:jump:

HELL YEAH!!!!!!!!!

Awesome work buddy!!!!

Realizing that I have the power to make things happen has really boosted my confidence.:)

That was the difference in me succeeding instead of failing like all the other times I tried to 'Diet'....you've got this....your gonna be at your goal in no time!!! Huge congrats.

I bet when you see someone who you havent sen in a while you are getting lots of comments on the loss. Am I right? Thats happeni ng to me and I am only at about 53 lbs of loss (been staled but getting moving again)

Thats a cool part of it. I am in size 40 waist pants today. When I started in Oct My 44s were so tight I was having trouble buttoning them and I had actually broken down and bough one pair of size 46. Good luck on getting the exercise going. ThAt will be critical when you decide you are at goal and want to maintain. Be careful then. Your body will be adapted to low cal and will grab up any extra cals as fat. I plan to go rom 1800 cal (my diet plan) to about 2400 for a couple of weeks or longer just to see if I put on any weight. But first I gotta get like 40-50 more lbs off. Good work dude. Nice effort! Hope your wife is as appreciative of the new look as mine has been (wink wink)

Great job! Keep it up!

You must be noticing so many changes and I'm sure they feel great. The kids must be living it as well.

My daughter is really enjoying my progress. She is going to be two in a few weeks, so she LOVES to run around and be goofy. We go outside every night and kick a ball, play catch (as well as a two-year-old can), and she has started to race me. She stands perfectly still and yells, " ONE....TWO....FREEEE!" and starts running. The biggest benefit of getting healthy is being able to run around with her (even though she is WAY faster than me and seems to beat me every time).:D:D:D

That, my friend, is what life is all about.

I race my 4 year old and it amazes how she has already figured out to start running on 2 1/2 and then say 3.
