Beginnger Trainer Tips?

Hey everyone~

My name's Natalie. I just finished my personal training course, now I'm just waiting on my exam results and certification.

Are there any tips or advice that would be good to hear as I'm new to the fitness field? Anything that you all wished you knew before you went into personal training or certain knowledge that you wish you were more versed in? Anything that one should avoid? Or, on the other hand, anything that one should strive for?

Thanks so much for your help! Really looking forward to hearing your insight!

Natalie

Aloha Natalie,
What I will be sharing with you is not "absolute".
Your perception of what is and your reality to how it should be play a vital role when stepping
into the realm of Health & Fitness teaching/training.

Wanting to train people begins with enjoying people of all ages, genders, race , health and physical cirrcumstances they deal with and most of all their attitude towards you and what you will be doing for them.
How you approach people is as important as how you will approach their exercise/workout program.
Everyone is different and you will need to "practice" to stay-on-purpose to "Why" you are there.
Learn to practice "listening" without any pre-thinking of what you already have in mind.
Ask questions that promote a "healthy-dialouge" between you and member/client.
Do not be afraid to make he or she understand that what is "wanted" is not what is "needed" first?
Lay a healthy-foundation so that your actions will be stable and strong for them.

LAST THING is Natalie, how well is your understanding-from-doing physical-exercise do you have/experience?
This involves all that makes exercise human-healthy,physically-fitting, and rightfully well.
From streching/flexibilty, strengthening, cardio/endurance, mental-cognitive ability, self-awareness/attention,
and all other components that are in the realm of health and in the field of fitness. It is important to already have the experience before training/teaching others. This is something you might "strive" for and what it is you must avoid is "knowing" without clear-understanding. It is only action/movement that reveals both wisdom and ignorance.
This not insight but years, plenty of years of exercising (right and wrong) and working with people and with students wanting to become Personal Trainers/Physical Therapist and Health Care Providers.
Practice your art by always making sure it's energy is from your heart. It will that inner-voice that will assist you in seeing potential-possibility as you enter the realm and field of Personal Training.
Good Health To You and BE YOur Commitment!
