Beginner

Hello all,

I'm a beginner at all of this. I'm going into my fourth and final year of University and I need to get healthy. I've put off exercising for far to long.

I'm starting everything September 1st. I'm going too swim every morning as well as weight training throughout the week. The food thing has never really been hard for me in terms of craving anything or just not wanting to eat healthier food, it's the preparation.

Hope to learn a lot from everyone!

Cheers :)

Go swimming, I Hope you enjoy it, Swimming is definitely an excellent exercise, binds all the body together, all muscles work together, it's good for Cardio/endurance too.

As for weight lifting, if you really don't know where to begin, then there will be trainers in the gym that will start you off with a simple program, they'll tell you what machines to do, sets and reps depending on your level, or your plan, more mass for example. And you'll get a regular scheme. He may say like, do this for a month, and then come back, and he'll 'step it up' a little. But at any problem or doubt don't hesitate to ask for advice or a change in the plan. And always warm up in gym too! just run a steady kilometer on the treadmill, nothing more or you'll burn up all the energy to lift the weights *lol*. And always drink plenty of water.
