Beginner: any results difference between 3x or 5x a week FBW?

Hi there,

I'm a beginner - only been doing a FBW 3x a week for the past 8 weeks. I'm 30, 5'7 and 81kg, mostly fat really.

In 8 weeks I've made good progress, moving from 2 to 3 sets in most exercises I do and/or increasing weights. I'm watching what I eat and stopped smoking and drinking.

The thing is, I really enjoy my gym program and I was wondering if going from 3x to 5x a week (with complete rest on Sat/Sun) would actually make a difference in results. Or do you think I would just 'burn out'?

I'm curious as I know many of you have a lot of experience and probably know the answer to that question :)

A FBW 5x a week would not allow for enough rest (which is when your body repairs itself, thus creating muscle gains). If you want to go to the gym 5x a week, maybe try a push-pull or upper-lower split routine.

However, as you seem to be trying to lose some fat, it might be a good idea to do a FBW 3 days a week (MWF), and cardio in between (TTh).
