Before Pics - Wanna lose ten

Hey all,

So I've decided that I'd like to lose ten pounds. I'm 5'4.5" and now weigh 130 and I'd like to get down to 120. I haven't given myself a deadline or anything, but I started going to fitness classes and walking back and forth to work. I'm also going to try and eat better. My goal is basically to build muscle and lose some fat. What do you guys think, is 120 a good size to strive for?

Here are my before pics. I will post more in a couple weeks to see if there is a difference. Wish me luck!!!!!

:eek2:

:iagree: with Matt.

Well, your body is nearly perfect already but I am guessing you know of some stubborn fat that we can just not see. Have you ever had your body fat measured with skin calipers? It has to be in the ideal to athletic range. Also, how old are you and how much do you already excercise?

My wife is 5' 6", 121 lbs and 16% body fat. Her body actually looks nearly identical to yours but even she wants to lose the last bit of stubborn fat she has. She has this one little soft pocket on each leg/buttocks that you can't even see unless you look at the right angle. It doesn't bother me one bit but I at least know what she is talking about. The only thing that does bother me is she still usually refuses to wear flattering bikinis. I wish she would realize how good she looks and just enjoy it. Someday she might look back at photos and say "what was I thinking? I looked great and I didn't even flaunt it." She thinks if she loses that last remaining spot of fat she will feel more comfortable in a lot of swimsuits or bikinis. All I know is we are going to Florida this Spring and for the first time since we were 19 we both look good (I got fat once I turned 20). If I lost all of this weight and she still looks better than me but won't even wear a bikini I am going to do this ---> :banghead:

LOL

Sorry for the rant. I thought it was worth mentioning because you and her really do have nearly identical bodies. Hopefully you realize that you look good though. You seem willing to make the change at a slow pace so maybe that is a good approach. Just make sure you don't lose any muscle or you will look too skinny as Matt said.

You look stellar right now! Weight training would probably be better than weight loss... unless you're going for the super skinny look. I personally find a very toned or even muscular women to look so much healthier and sexy. Check out getting into CrossFit... I think these women and men have some of the best bodies out there!

Wow- you do have an incredible body! 120 sounds like a good weight for your height, but you seem to have very little body fat in your pictures. And what you do have just creates the booty all women dream of.

I would try to find a way to get your body fat measured, just to make sure you'll stay in a healthy range with 10 pounds of weight loss. Good luck though!!

Thanks so much guys! I don't know.. sometimes I think I may have a warped view of how I really look because my friends are all skinnier than me.

Derrick, I'm 25 and the only exercise I've been doing the last couple of years has been walking back and forth from work everyday (about 20min each way). I think I've been gradually losing muscle ever since I've been out of high school (I used to be involved in sports and such). I'm actually like your wife in the fact that I've never worn a bikini to the beach. I bought the first one in my life last summer and couldn't bring myself to wear it because I'm too self conscious about ppl looking at me in it. On this forum I don't mind posting the pics because I don't know you ppl and you can't see who I am I guess. I mean, I see ppl who are a lot bigger than me who I think look fabulous in bikinis, but some how I'm just not comfortable in one. I can't see your wife having the same body type as me being an inch and a half taller and nearly 10 pounds lighter?? who knows...

All I know is that I really would like to have a firmer body and I'm hoping that these fitness classes will help me achieve some sort of change over the next few months. I will keep you posted on my progress.

Wowza! I am so jealous! If you want to loose 10 lbs, that's your choice, but I agree with everyone... you have a hot body!

Working out never hurt anyone's shape, so I'm sure you can improve from that perspetive. And if you happened to drop a few pounds while adding in some exercise, then fine. But to actively seek to lose 10 lbs, I dont see it either. Some find the ultra thin look nice, but I personally dont. You look great right now so do enjoy it, wear a bikini for God's sake! I mean really, are you serious that you wont wear a bikini in public? WHY?! Confidence is what's attractive!! And I honestly dont think you will get it just by losing 10 lbs.

A firmer/ Toned body means you will actually gain weight, i would focus more on core training and weight training.

I'm with the above two posts. It's not about what the scale says. It's about the reflection in the mirror.

girrrrrrrrrrl you have an amazing body already, women are soft and supple .. do too much and you'll become a stiff board! i'd say just work on the butt where it meets your legs and maybe your thighs, but your abdomen and arms are perfect P E R F E C T lol. good luck! hope your results are what you want

Some guys like soft bodys.. some prefer a toned hard body.. oh yeah.. leave the butt alone, toned flat asses suck. like i said all guys are diff tho

Well to each their own but I really think Blancita said best what most of us were trying to say. That is, getting in shape is great and you WILL look even better as you get in better shape. But really do not even worry what the scale says. At your point, honestly just eat healthy and well and try to excercise as best you can. Have fun with the excercising too. Do stuff that you have always wanted to do and you will be more likely to stick with it and get good at it. For example, I always wanted to try kickboxing and yoga. Now I do them both and I have improved so much. I'm really into it now and has helped me lose fat and get in better shape. Consistent weight lifting would be great for you too.

It sounds like you are already thinking on these lines so I think you have your head in the right place. Just maybe start to realize that you really do look great. If your friends are thinner than you I am guessing not all people would agree that they necessarily look better. I am with Matt on this. I can't see how losing anything off your butt would make it look better. That is pretty much the butt that most men prefer.

Can I ask if you feel comfortable in those under clothes in your pictures? How do you think you look in them? If you feel comfortable in them then you should have no problem wearing a bikini.

Thanks for all your input, guys :)

I've decided that maybe I shouldn't try to lose ten pounds. I think I'll concentrate on becoming more fit and getting stronger, and hopefully get my body into better shape.

Thanks again,
Lady25

o_O; weight really isnt everything.. am glad you decided to get fitter instead of lighter. You look a lot thinner than I do altho my BMI is lower.. so see weight isnt everything at all.

Hey that is good news. Don't forget to make it fun too.

Best of luck to you.
