I stumbled onto this site a few months ago, and have only just built up enough courage and motivation to post. Im starting my new diet tomorrow and thought it would be best to post a before pic. Im also Australian, and am starting the Tony Ferguson diet tomorrow, as well as trying to give up smoking which might prove a tad difficult. I'm 21 and currently weigh 182 pounds, my goal weight is 143, I don't want to be deathly skinny, I just want to be comfortable in the clothes that I wear, which is roughly 65kilos. I'm not sure if i've done it correctly, but this is my before pic

I have what's called Calorie Cruncher on my phone, and according to my height and weight and light moderate exercise, i should eat less than 2071 calories, i'm not sure if I understand it correctly but they say you should minus 500 calories from that and go from there, the diet that i'll be trying is a shake diet, and it's actually really tasty, I tried it once and I lost 7 pounds in my first week, I just struggle with exercise and motivation so hopefully this time i'll be able to stick to it with some continued support. Thank you very much for reading.

You can do it! Just keep exercising, you don't have to kill your self at the gym, just try to make an effort to walk or ride a bike. Just keep moving! If you fall off the food wagon, don't beat yourself up, just get back on the wagon and try to do better the next day. Baby steps. I'm rooting for ya!

Good luck with your goals, especially giving up smoking. I'm sure you can do it. What exactly does the Ferguson diet have you do? Is it an exercise program or eating guide?

The Tony Ferguson diet is based on 2 shakes per day, they are really good, not like those yucky powdery types, you just mix it with water and it tastes like a real milkshake. Basically for breakfast and lunch you have the shakes, then for dinner, usually 1 palm size protein, like chicken or fish etc, 3 cups of allowed vegetables etc. It basically cuts out all carbohydrates and sends the body into ketosis, you're only allowed decaf tea or coffee, no junk food etc, no sugar, no carbs, 2 litres of water minimum, you can have soft drinks but they have to be diet or caffeine free, there's a lot more involved, it's a great program, people lose alot of weight on it. To some people it feels like the worst thing in the world but I really enjoy it, your body feels so good, obviously that's not all though, there's so much more you have to do, and they even tell you not to exercise in the first week, then when you reach your goal weight you're put on a 'maintainence plan'. Anyway, I can't reallly explain it that much more because I don't have my book with me but log on and have a look :)

and thank you for the comments, i appreciate it :)

It really depends on what you get, because there's suppliments they provide etc.
For a week worth of shakes, that's 14, 2 each day 7 days a week, it's roughly about 45 dollars, and i'm in Brisbane, Australia, Im guessing it's the same all around Australia. Then there's Fibre, which you can add to your shakes, to make them thicker and so youre getting essential nutrients, but i don't like it because it makes it a bit grainy, so I use benefiber, which disolves in the shake. Then theres Chromium Tablets, they help the body use insulin, it prevents our blood sugar levels from rising too high etc. They charge you a 15 dollars registration fee, and then they try and make you pay about another 15-20 for the booklets, but you don't really need them, I typed them out for my uncle, and all it does is basically tell you what you are and aren't allowed to eat, helps you to read labels etc, all sorts like that, all up on my first week I paid 90 dollars, and that was because I bought a shaker, which actually turned out to be pretty crappy, lol, it started leaking, so I just bought another from a supermarket for a few dollars. But after I paid the initial 90 I only paid 45 after that each week for my shakes :)
