Before Pic- Can't wait to lose this uglyness

My journal can be found here if you want to keep up to date with the progress I am making.

http://training.fitness.com/journal/defensive-end-2007-football-season-21286.html

This pic was taken at the start of my cutting diet and after an all-you-can eat bulk that I regret. I started at 182.6 Pounds and 26.7% body fat. My current weight is 171.4. So I have lost 11.2 pounds and plan on burning fat until I am 150. I'm not to happy with the before pic...But I can't wait till the after pic. Wish me luck

Good on you for having the guts to take some pics! I did the same thing as you and now I think I need to loose some fat as well. Im going to be watching what im eating much closer now. Hope it all goes well for you PEACE

Depending on your height... I might not drop to 150 lbs to begin with.
If your lifting weights and doing cardio, you shouldnt focus on your weight but BF%. Body composition should matter more then weight.

OO

Thats what I am doing; I don't want to lose muscle because I wan't to be a strong defensive end. As long as I am getting enough protein and lifting 3 times a week I shouldn't lose any muscle.

Thanks for the comments.

Here is a somewhat-progress pick. I was 173 Pounds this morning; but I was 180 Pounds when I took the pic because I just ate and such. I'm still 9-10 pounds down; been following off the wagon just a little bit like I ate a 3 musketeers bar today....

I can't see much progress; but I know I'm losing some fat because I'm back to wearing my 34 inch pants again. What do you think?

Everyone has that problem when trying to change a behavior. Try to take it moment by decision. Every time you have the urge to do something that isn't moving you towards your goal, try to step back and ask yourself: "Is this what I really want?" It may be cliche, but it works. :)

Thanks. I decided that I wouldn't track my progress by weight as much. Its kind of inaccurate with the water balances, food weight, etc. I'm going to post a weight and photo every Sunday.

excludding tommorow....

Here are two things I say to myself, for some reason I thought they might work for you as well....

1) When I'm kinda hungry but i'm thinking about my next meal time and getting too excited by it (aka, i know once i eat what i'm supposed to i'm going to want to keep going for no reason other than enjoyment) I say to myself "food is not something you look forward to. food is something you use to take care of yourself."

2) when catching myself on the brink of a bad decision, i'll say to myself "this food will not make me as happy as failing my goals makes me unhappy."

Good advice Derwyddon!

a little trick that actually works. If you feel hungry, but dont want to eat alot, drink a coupple glasses of water. Sometimes you think you are hungry, but you are really thirsty.

I drink cold water all the time.

Can't wait till Sunday for progress pics; my diet has been 100% clean the entire week and as of yesterday morning I was 169.0.

What I do is make sure I eat 30 grams of protein every 2-3 hours, 6 meals a day from clean food. So in school I'll have 2 protein bars since that add up to 30 grams since its more convient.

Heres what I have mostly been eating:
Salad
Mixed vegetables
Flax Oill
Whey Protein
Protein Bars, Detour
Chicken Breasts
Cod
Salmon
Tuna
Milk
Yogurt
Vanilla Milk
Candian Bacon

I was going to send progress pics, but for some reason the picture would not send to my email. So I'll have to post it tommorow. I was 170.2 this morning which means I lost 2.8 Pounds. My belly was so small this morning; it looked like I lost 10 pounds.

O and superbowl is a killer  I hope I don't gain weight...I can't tell you what I ate. :(

oh sh!t, dont even get me started on superbowl eatin.........lol

End Cutting

I decided that I need to start clean bulking. I don't have enough muscle mass on my frame to get the 6-pack that I wan't.

But this time, like I said, a CLEAN bulk. Last time I tried all-out-eat bulking...didn't go so well.

After losing 12 good pounds and back to my old 34'' pants; I am satisfied with the progress that I have made.

My goal is to add 0.5-2 pounds a week (which means, if all goes well, I will be 190 Pounds on August 10, right before training camp begins.).

Derwyddon you said it all.. I am going to take that suggestion if I may and use it for myself!!
