Before...and in between..238 - 183lbs, another 40lbs to go

In 2008, I went from 240lbs to 195lbs by playing lots of tennis even though I couldn't run very fast and must have wobbled all over the courts (!) and eating healthily and probably half of what I was eating previously.

Throughout 2009 I stayed around 195 - 200lbs because i wanted to prove to myself that I could keep the weight off without living a puritanical lifestyle before going on to lose the next lot of weight, but by Xmas 2009 I dashed up to 210lbs and got the fright of my life. NEVER EVER NEVER going there again!

I'm now 199lbs and going downwards - my ticker shows my short term goal, but ideally I'd like to get down to 140-150lbs and then reassess my goal weight as I have no idea what I'll look like or what size I'd be then. I'm going to the gym three times a week at the least, playing tennis a couple of nights a week, still got the occasional lacrosse game even though the season has now ended, and cycling at home and out and about as much as I can. On the eating side of things, trying to make the right choices and keep to under 1500 cals a day.

The three pics are:

UPDATE
2010 at 190lbs (after going back up to 212 in 2009 and back down again!!

I have much less of a problem-bulgy lower stomach and these trousers are now like clown pants so I got to get some new work clothes!! I know it doesn't look a huge difference from the 195 pics but considering I've been up again in weight and then back down again, I FEEL very different - much more toned at this weight than I was back in 195 - I guess the pics aren't the best but I don't have teh same saddlebag thighs as I did in them jeans back then!

UPDATE
August 2010 at 183lbs!

Feeling tanned and healthy and getting there!! Size 16 UK now and wearing normal knickers in this photo rather than hold-me-in control ones! I'm not going to get a flat stomach without some sort of surgery hahaha - not after having a child! But I've lost around 4 inches off of my bra size W00H00 and my upper arms and thighs are finally starting to tone up!

Thanks for the motivational posts :D I'm still on the straight and narrow - now firmly in the 190s and not intending to drift back up! If I can get back under 195 I'll be back on track to be the lightest I've been in 5 years and still loosing. Worth more than any chocolate bar!! In fact, I WANT to get to a point where I can post another "during" photograph - 190lbs is my target for this.

W00H00!!!
I hit 190 so have posted some updated pics - next update is 185 or 180...depending on how much difference it makes!!

Jjjjay!!!!!

Well done you! My goodness, I can't believe you actually fit in those pants at one time. You have come sooo far!!! You are an inspiration to alot of people here! And you have the personality to go with it too!

:jump: Fantastic girl! Very proud of you! :jump:

awww thanks Flumes

I really really don't think of myself as an inspiration at all - more like a failure for getting in that position in the first place!! But, if I can do it, believe me, anyone can!!

Major wardrobe sort out this weekend - gonna ebay a load of work suits I think as they are now CLOWN SUITS!!

Congrats on the weight loss. I have similar goals to you. I started off at 196 and also want to weigh 140. Actually I want to get to 139 to be under 140 which is 10 stone. I don't remember being under that weight for at least 20 years. So far I have lost 40lbs so not far to go now. I love the feeling of not carrying so much weight and not feeling like everybody is looking at me when I go out. I might even dig out some photos when I reach my goal weight and post them up. Good luck, you seem sure to succeed.

48 pounds lost is spectacular. congrats and dont give up. you are succeeding!

...gaaawwwwd im jealous. stupid fat takes forever to go away.

Thanks for the comments guys!!! I can't wait to lose another 1/2 stone and post some more progress pics. The ball is ROLLIN'!!!!

Just give it time size32someday - it will happen if you persevere and keep focused! Just one foot in front of the other and do your best each day.

Eyckmans - out of interest, can you remember at what points over the last 40lbs from 196 downwards you dropped in clothes sizes? I'm a UK 16-18 now and interested in what I might be at say in another 14lbs time, then at what point I might be a 14, a 12 etc... I find it easier to conceptualise goal weight at a size rather than in lbs and couldn't really say whether I'm aiming for 140lbs or 155lbs etc... Just that i'd like to be a size 12 probably.

I'm 156lbs now but have a big bust(f cup). Size 14 jeans fit me easily now so I could probably squeeze into a size 12 soon. Size 14 tops are sometimes too tight depending on the cut. The problem is that sizes vary so much. I think I will die of happiness the day I get into a pair of size 12 jeans. I really hope that when I reach my goal of under 10 stone that I will fit into size 12 clothes. I don't remember at what weight I went into a size 16 but the clothes that I bought to slim into are already too big.
Can't wait until the next time I go to England as I will just be able to walk into all the stores and buy, buy, buy. :)
Val

Thanks Val - I assuming you are talking about UK sizes?? I've just moved into a size 16 trousers and although a lot of my work clothes are size 18 on the top (yep, E to F bust here!), I tried on a couple of size 16 tops in the shops today and they fit. I think I'm going to be a size 14 on the bottom in the 170s - I can't see me loosing 14-20lbs and size 16 still fitting, then I think I'll probably be a size 12 on the bottom in the 150s. Top...well that all kind of depends on the bust question - GOD I WANT TO GO BACK TO BEING A 34C!! Although, that was pre-pregnancy so who knows?!?

Yes that's English sizes. I've lived in Mallorca for nearly 30 but I'm from Luton originally.
I would so love to be a 34 C again also but it isn't going to happen. That is the part of my body that has lost the least weight. The problem with a big bust is that it makes you look heavier than you actually are. I love dresses but often when then fit at the top they are too big at the bottom.
Where do you buy your bras? I usually get mine in M&S while I'm in England but have yet to find one that gives the right support that isn't too matronly. They always come up really high between the boobs and with anything remotely low cut the bra shows.

Val, try Bravissimo next time you are over here - I moved to them from M&S a few years ago and haven't looked back!!! The Panache Tango II Plunge bras are the best - really low cut plunge but great support, and they do a non-plunge higher version for wearing under not so low cut tops (in fact....as modelled by myself in the pics on this thread! The black is the plunge and the red is the normal version!). Bravissimo shop assistants are super trained to get the best fit and really know all of the different makes and which are best likely to suit you.

I haven't quite got to the point where I'll wear dresses - still not confident about my legs showing. I know its a "me" thing and that girls with bigger legs than me wear dresses and look great...but we all have our own bits we keep covered up and mine are upper arms and calves. As for boobs, if they don't decrease in size at least a bit...I'll be very upset! Its just not practical for all the sports I like doing!

Thanks Jjjay, I`ll definitely try that the next time I go to England which won't be until about October or November but I always keep a list of things to buy when I go. The black one looks exactly what I am looking for.
My boobs have gone down in size, just not as much as the rest of me. My bra cups are all wrinkled as they are too big now so I don't really know what size I am anymore but I don't want to spend a lot of money on new ones until I have got to goal weight.
I'm actually quite proud of my legs as I do so much fast walking that they are now the best bit of my body and I am planning on getting them tanned as soon as I can so that I can show them off :) Never expected me to get my legs out in public.

Yeah, I'm getting the gaping cup syndrome as well - w00h00! Going to wait a bit longer until my bras are just TOO big for sure and then buy some more even though I won't be at goal weight - I'll need to I think!!

Bravissimo have a really good online/mail order and you can call their shops and book fitting appointment for when you are next over.

I WISH I'd got to the stage where my legs looked good. They are rock solid after all the running I've been doing so not fat wobbly calves but they are bigger than I would like - its the back of the knee bit that gets to me. Oh well, I'd rather be thinner with some fat bits standing out that fatter all over!!! Getting there slowly but surely!! :D
