Before and During...

Well, I'm rather new-ish here, been kidna watching and reading on some of the tips and stuff over the last few months to help keep me motivated, but figure now might be a good time to go ahead and toss up a a before and current :) sooo here it goes...

Where I started (about 360 lbs)

where I am now (about 280)

I still think I weigh a lot, and it kinda baffles me... obviously I am not where I want to be yet, my goal is 220 so I'm gettin there, but the thing that gets me, is there are these guys @ the gym that weight themselves and are like huge and only weigh like 320-330... and i was above that, but never as big as them (at least i think), and now am not that far below that... I guess maybes it bone or muscle density or something? anyone have a similar experience....

also I saw a thread on here about self image... I feel better physically, but I dont really see my self as a lot thinner, even tho everone tells me I am... I mean its weird, i till see the really big guy in the mirror, and I dont know what to do about it...

a couple notes on how long and what I have been doing..

Gym- I go almost every day... some ppl say its not the best thing to do, but I really like it, and its awesome stress relief. I always do at least 30 minutes of cardio, and then swim about 30 laps in the pool. I weght train for another 30-45 minutes depending what muscles I am working on.

As far as diet goes.. the main thing I have changed is cutting out unnecessary refined sugar adn unhealthy non essential carbs. Its easy to do, you dont have to starve urself, and you still have plenty of energy for your workouts.

I have been going at it for almost exactly a year and the weight loss has been pretty consistant. I am not taking any kind of shakes, pills, or any of that stuff. I wanna do is slow and controlled and naturally...

anwyas, thoughts, input, ideas, suggestions would be great!

thanks for reading!

You and I and so many other are in the same boat when it comes to self image. We do feel better, we do feel stronger and everyone tells us about the HUGE changes they see.... Yet in the mirror we still see the starting weight. Don't let it get you down, IMO it is perfetly normal, if not fun. We are our own worst critics, and seeing the little changes day in day out makes them seems so minor we can't really see the bigger picture. I think you are doing incredible already! Not only do your pics show it, but 80 pounds is a heroic effort and you should be very proud! I too am shooting for 220 to see how it goes, 20 pounds to go. I am hoping by then I can start looking in the mirror and seeing a fit guy instead of a fat one. But even if not, I am not going to stress it, nor should you. It will come eventually and someday "soon I hope" we will both see the great looking men we are becoming.

Keep up the good work buddy!

Ha you are/were like me :) In terms of how you're doing it atleast, ALOT of training :p
Nicely done so far :) You'll hit your goal in no time at this rate.

thanks for all the replies and stuff, its definately good to get some positive feedback, so again, thank you. I sure hope the last 60 or so drop off pretty quick, its a bit frustrating some times :)

Hi Drewbie,
I'm part of the people who think that too much exercices isn't so good, but as long as you enjoy it and continue that way, it's great !

You've done an amazing job. Keep going, it's hard, but worth it, and, so far, you've been a better loser than I am! I'm stabilized at the same weight for 1 month because I can't stop cheating with myself. PFff, bad girl !

Good luck!
