My story is a long one, not necessarily one of dispair, but still interesting I would say. I was aout 150-165 in High school, it waivered some, but not alot. I was very active and ate whatever I want, ah the life of a high metabolism and no problems. Fast forward 8 years, and here I am, 235 pounds, 5'7" tall, and very uncomfortable with my body.On the outside I am a very funny, personable guy that everyone gets along with and loves. But that is just what overweight people do, they get others to look past that, as they should. But I myself, I am not comfortable anymore. I cannot bend over to tie my shoes, I cant stretch worth anything, I get winded from walking up steps, I just want to be healthy. I hope to get down to 150-155 by next summer, as we are all (my friends and I) planning a Vegas vacation. I just want to be able to run 5ks, 10ks, and do tough mudder and other fun things.

Three years ago, my now fiance (then girlfriend) started working out religiously. Two a days, everyday, including the weekends. Taking Lipo6, and barely changing our eating habits I still managed to lose 50 pounds, all the way down to 180. We ended up going to Switzerland for her brother's wedding, I found out what it was like to eat lots of chocolate, cheese, and pasta, and even worse, have a week off and have free time. When I (we) came back from Switzerland, it was not the same. Unfortuantely for me, fortunately for her, she has never had a problem with her weight. She works out just to stay healthy.

Two years ago, I started school on a path to Nursing school. I recently got acepted into one of the highest ranked programs here in Illinois, with honors, upcoming for this Fall. I just graduated with my Associates, and now am going to be starting on my Registered Nurse license. Now that is going to be stressful, but I need time management and organization as well. I am also going to be quitting my job, because I will not be able to work because the hours for the program are all in the AM. My fiance and I are moving in with my parents, which will remove the financial burden somewhat. Me not having a job will also help me to not waste money on fast food and alcohol. Our access to healthy things-bike riding, trail walking, skateboarding, dog walking where we live now really limits us. When we move in with my parents, everything will change, and that is coming at the end of July. I will actually be starting p90x come August 1st, or the 15th (I need a sequential start date, I cannot just start it a random day (OCD)) I started it once in my apartment, but there is no room, and things needed to be moved everyday, and it was just a mess.

Nevertheless, I will be updating this, filling you guys in on exercise, food, and activities just so I can hold myself accountable. I have a friend whose birthday is NYE, so I am hoping to get fit by then, because I really have a shirt/suit I'd like to fit into, and we do something big in Chicago every year. Please follow me, and join the journey with me!

Hey there Beast! You're doing the best thing, getting in shape and going to school. Your career will be a big motivator in getting fit because it's hard to work in the health field advising people on their health when you can't back up what you're saying with your own life. I look forward to hearing your updates and hopefully we can motivate each other! :)

ALooking forward to your updates, one of the hardest things to do is get started, you have done that by starting this diary, Well Done.

Yes, this is true, now it is all about routine and sticking with it!

I agree with this 100%. People always make fun of cardiologists for smoking and dieticians for being overweight. But a nurse is all about overall health, and I would really like to be a good example for that.

I bought a juicer the other day, and put some apples in it...amazing! I could not believe it. This might be revolutionary! Pictures and thoughts to follow!

I juiced kale, spinach, parsley, carrots, and cucumbers, and it was absolutely disgusting, but very nutritious :). I need some more experimenting though, but I ran with my dogs today and ate a porterhouse (oops) and some sauteed asparagus. I need to hit the gym in the morning instead of the afternoon, I need motivation!

Agood luck finding a combination of veg that tastes go for you. posting your gym workouts can help keep you accountable.

Sorry to hear that, but I suppose it comes with the territory of juicing. I agree with Trusylver that posting your workouts helps to keep you accountable. If you don't post them on a certain day, I almost take it as an excuse to not work out. Sometimes before or while I'm working out, I look forward to posting about it here. So in my case I use posting as a reward. I don't lie in my diary, so if I didn't work out, I almost feel ashamed.
