Has anyone ever won a free 60 day membership to bally's through the shape up contest? I would like to enter but I have heard some negative things about the club and would like to know if it any good?

I've heard horror stories too. But I think as long as you read, and re-read contract you will be okay. All of the horror stories I have heard concern the contract that they get people to sign.
I've also heard that the customer service isn't there like it would be in a smaller, less meat-market type gym. Although Bally has been going through some major changes in the past year or so. In fact they just re-elected a new board and dropped their lawsuits. Maybe they have shaped up

If you like neon and a pickup joint atmosphere, you'll love it. They are hardsell when it comes to a contract. They have multiple different plans. Hold out as long as you can(if you really want to go there). I had a guest membership through work, but wouldn't sign on for a real contract. They ended up mailing me an offer at $9.99 per month. I still declined and found a real gym.
