Baking Potato in Microwave

OK I got the white 'baking' potatoes at the store. I know cooking times vary but can someone give me a general idea how to cook these. Do I have to poke holes in them?

P.S., my fitness friends keep telling me to go with small red potatoes over white potatoes. I think because they have a greater fiber-to-starch ratio.

Red potatoes are better for you (so my wife tells me, I think she just likes the flavor), and yeah - poke holes, 2 min, flip, 2 min, flip, possible 1 minute, flip, possible 1 minute - in the last 2 minutes you need to be careful not to overcook.

fork them, wrap in a paper towel, and microwave - depending on the size - 2-4 minutes per side
I've heard a wet paper towel works better, too. Microwaves affect moisture, so this helps cook it, apparently.

yeah, it tastes better (doesn't dry out as much) if the paper towel is moist
