Hi,
I saw this topic http://training.fitness.com/weight-loss/lower-back-pain-lots-trampoline-25360.html and was going to reply to it, but seeing as its four years old i though it'd be best to make my own.
I've recently started suffering from back pain, and i'm puzzled as to why i am. The only realistic conclusion i can think of is trampolining, as i ussualy do around 30mins a day bouncing normally on my trampoline just listening to my ipod. I'm 15, and ive done this for a year now maybe longer and have only recently started getting back pains. I get pains when im on the trampoline (sometimes) and then while i'm off. The pains can vary, being in different locations and feel different. I play guitar as well, and have done for 2 years now, and im also concerned this could affect my guitar playing. Also, a few months back now i had pains from trampolining which meant that depending on which way i moved my neck (like looking down etc) i would feel a pain near the top of my spine. It got worse to a point where i didnt move my head at all because it hurt too much, and i explained this to my mum. She then found some heat cream, rubbed it at the top of my spine and i just passed out. She tried to move me to the sofa where i could rest better but passed out on the way there and the medics have no idea why i did.
The pains arnt as a bad now, but it's my back still gets sore/painful and sometimes can be pretty uncomfortable. Even before i posted this whilst reading the topic i mentioned at the start i felt a stabbing pain in my lower back, which has stopped now. Is it a case of stretching properly before/after exercise? Or could it be a lot worse and i'd need to see a doctor?
Sorry for the wall of text, it's just something thats on my mind.
Thanks.
