So it's been two years since i was last around here and from my last post in my thread back then was

"Well what can I say apart from GUTTED , all the hard work from before gone as I went back to old ways the last week odd. Any of the good work I had done will of been undone, the one poitive is I have stoped it now, and am back on the right root,

God its easy to fall of track quick"

Things obviously didn't stop there and they got got worse, since then I have hit the booze again and obviously been eating crap again, feels quiet the failure, but no one to blame but myself.

Numbers will be through the roof, but carnt weigh myself yet, but I have just orderd some strong scales, cost over £200, as I wanted to know my proper starting point this time, I'm expecting them to be close to 600 pounds :(

So there we have it, I'm back :)

Its never too late to start.
Good luck with everything, keep pushing hard and don't give up.
We are all deserving of a better life :)

So had my last drink days ago and still eating alot better, theres still room for improvment, but alot better than it was, like tonight I had oven chips and chicken breast, with one slice of bread, when before it whould be more bread and chippy chips and kebab meat.

The scales come and I was not 600, but 513 pounds, still big but we have a start point, I would think I have lost a few water pounds before the scales come but will not knows that, and numbers can only go down from here!

So plan is long term stay of beer, and eat healier, and if I do it will get me to where I want to be.

So treat tea day today, and I have just had chippy, had chips and chicken and one slice of bread and can honestly say I wish I never had it and it was nowhere near as the veg and chicken dinner I had last night!

Dinner was good had a couple wholemeal cobs

Shall have some weetabix or shredded wheat latter

Sounds weird way round to eat but sleeping pattern is anyhow need to sort that out!

Drinking plenty of water and still no ale.

It's good that you are drinking lots of water and no beer. Drinks are a lot of extra calories that really don't help anything. The only thing I drink now is water and 2 cups of coffee a day... no juice or anything else. All that extra sugar really adds up!

So the first weigh in and I am down to 505. something, so lost 7-8 pounds in first week, witch I know is water weight alot but its a nice booster to start with.

Hey hun, welcome back to the forum--It's a shame your hard work went to waste the first time around but you're back now and that's what is important. You can do this! What's your plan? How many calories, etc? Stopping drinking has been my biggest hurdle so far. I usually manage to stop for a few days and then have a massive binge so slowly trying to introduce it back in small moderation!

Good luck and let us know if we can do anything to help xx

Hi, well at the min I'm not counting calories, but I am maybe not eating enough for my size, going to try and add some fruit and a Yoghurt maybe, and I rearly need to sort my sleeping out, and keep my water intake up what is starting to slip abit.

Hey There!!

Welcome back!

I think you've made a great step by coming on here! I have found that this community provides me with so much support!

You've also done a fantastic job of choosing to cut out the drinking and include more water in your diet! Those are great things to do! I can never believe how many calories a day I drink!! It's amazing - and it such a simple thing to avoid! I would rather eat something with a bit more calories, and drink more water!

I have just started counting calories, and have found that it helps me a lot to keep my goal in sight...it's a lot of work, but surprisingly worth it!

Also, have you thought about any kind of exercise routine? :)

I think you're doing fantastic so far! You've set yourself up to succeed :)

Not updated for abit

Still cut the beer out so thats good

Not started any exercise yet, but yes it will be walking when I do

Weigh in day today and I lost 3 pound this week what I'm pleased with as I had a chippy tea twice, going to have it once from now on saturdays

Need to eat a little more, going to add a youghart and some fruit to me daily food, to keep the metabolism ticking over

Cheers, Jamers

So tonight I went for a "walk" was going to go round my block what is half a mile, but onlt got a little way and had to turn round as my back started to kill, and was so out of breath when I got back.

It has just made me more determined though to carry on, because the other option is to sit in my room and drink my self to a early death in a couple years!

Weigh day tommorow, and I hope to get under the 500 mark.

Sorry to hear that! But don't give up- weight loss is not a fast achievement! It takes time, hard work and patience!

I would really recommend counting calories and logging your exercise - if you do that, then the weeks when you're finding you're not losing the weight you want, you can go back and see what you can change.

Just remember, every healthy food choice you make, and every bit of physical activity you do, will help you work towards your goal :)

Right going to get up at 11 am latest from now! Will be tired to start with but will get used to it

Plus going to dust the exercise bike off!!!!! As it's better on my back than walking

random day

3 weetabix and milk = 300
or
porridge - 300-400
or
bran flakes 0 300-400
or
2 pouched eggs on 2 toast with beans = 710

Dinner

crisps and sandwitch = 550
or
Heinz big soup and 2 brown cobs = 300 - 350 [If I had the eggs]

Main meal

chicken and veg = 700-900
or
tuna and couple jacket spuds and couple fish fingers = 800
or
spag bol
or
Fish, parsley sauce, peas and spuds
or
Tuna pasta bake
or
Home made chicken curry and brown rice = 800

So about 1700 - 1800 , so I'm guessing my body is going into starvation mode

Say I keep what I'm eating and add a apple[50] and banana[150], and a yogurt[100] 4 crackers [200]

that would take it to about 2300 ,

just thinking and typing lol, and looked through my old thread and took some things from there,

would this be a better calorie intake you think?

I'm no nutritionist or trainer - but what I have been suggested to do, is calculate my BMR ...which is really the amount of calories you burn through out the day without doing any exercise.

Your BMR is going to be unique to you. It looks at age, sex, height, and weight. Once you have that calculated, then you'll know a number which you can follow!

If you don't do any exercise, and you eat over your BMR calorie burn per day, then you will gain weight; if you eat around your BMR amount, you not gain or lose weight; if you eat under, you will lose weight. I think 200-500 calories under your BMR a day will help you lose 1-2 lbs a week!

But you also have to take in the calories you burn while exercising!

I have a friend who's bmr is roughly 1600. She exercises and burns roughly 800 calories per work out. To make sure she maintains her weight, she eats 2400 calories a day! So you have to calculate all that in!

I would suggest the first thing you do is get your BMR!

And start logging your food (meals/drinks) intake (time of day, how much, everything that go into your meal), and then count the calories!

I found it a bit of work at first...but now I'm use to it. It also helped me a lot. I thought I was eating pretty healthy, but once I started to see what I was really eating, and the calories I was consuming in the foods I thought were healthy, it changed my view! It also helps me portion my food out!

Hope that helps!

According to this site I need 4744 calories to maintain doing little or no exercise!!!!!!!!!

and to lose 2 pounds i need 3744, if I have worked it right

lol

If this is right I need to start eating abouther 1400 calories on top of what I haver planned to eat, and double what I have been eating, what sounds wrong to me, even if its not what could I ad to eat that much more?

that sounds quite insane!

I'm no nutritionist- but, on some level the more you weight, the more calories you'll need to consume!

Maybe see if you get the same number!

The only thing I would suggest, and it's worked for me, is to keep on here a very detailed account of your daily food intake- what you eat, when, how much, and why. It takes time to do it, but it is SOOOOO useful! I can't stress how much it has helped me. I would also suggest that once you get use to recording EVERYTHING you eat/drink, start counting the calories!! (and you should record everything! When i started i use to leave out little snacks *hehehehe*, I was embarrassed of what I ate, and thought people would judge me...but then i realized that every time I left out something I ate, I was only hurting my chances to lose weight!) ....

If you do it on here, we can maybe help you figure out if you can substitute things for healthier/low cal choices! I know people have given me really great advice on what to eat juts from looking at my diet!

I hope this helps! Food tracking is important for weight loss! We're here to help you too! Keep it up! You WILL see results if you maintain a healthy diet and regular exercise :)

Not been on really this site much this week, but still going strong.

Cheers Tik, thats the site I used.

Over the weekend I had some sharp pains in my chest and arm felt tight on monday, so went Docters today and luckily She said it wasn't my heart [had a ECG scan], and my blood pressure was normal, so thats relived me, we think its acid reflux.

On the food front this week, I added the crackers, banana, and yogart, to my daily intake and spreed them out to make it like 6 times aday I'm eating with my breakfast dinner and tea, Having roughly, 2200-2300 cals aday.

Started walking to the shop every weekday to get a little exercise in, not alot but it's a start.

Anyway weigh day today and I have lost 4 pounds this week, to take my total to 15 pounds in the first month, and a the first little milestone of getting below 500, weighing in at 498.
