'Baaaaack in the saddle again!'

Nothing changes if nothing changes. How profound...but Newton had this figured out years ago.

"An object at rest will stay at rest until a force acts on it."

Hmmmm.....I've been sitting around for a while with no gumption and I know theres alot of force in this place to get me moovin' again.

So, I am going to begin my third journey to losing weight and getting more fit. The first journey was a great adventure until I hit an iceberg in life. My second journey felt like I was leaving in a thick fog....which didn't get me far.

But this time feels right. Things are getting normaller, and I feel its time to hoist the sails.

My goal is 200 lbs by October 1st. 190 lbs by Christmas. And 180ish by April 4th....(leave for 2 weeks in the Carribean)

No speed records to break....No gimmicks or magic. Just a slow conscious effort monitoring my eating habits and making healthier adjustments. For example...instead of a half a pizza for supper....2 slices and some veggies. Instead of a 20 oz T-bone with all the fixins, a 10 oz leaner cut with more veggies (and less sour cream and butter lol). And dessert will be reasonable portions...not the behemoth piece of cake and globs of ice cream....but a portion to savour, signfying the contentment of a good meal

And I gotta get mooving again. yes...mooving. (Good mental picture there right? lol)

Lastly, I have to drink more water. I'm sure it was a key factor with my previous loss of 20 odd pounds here....so I'm going to make sure I drink more water, ( and less beer and wine).

So, off we goooooooo........

Almost done the day....so its a good time to check in.

Breakfast - 1 cup oatmeal with 4 oz milk and frozen berries.

Lunch - Mixed greens salad with 1 can of tuna and oil/vinegar dressing

Snack - 1 jalapeno and cheese sausage. I needed protein baddddd. No idea on the cals but lets say 300 to be safe

Dinner - Going to be a cucumber salad with a lean 8 oz steak and stir fried green beans with garlic and olive oil.

And I will snack after that....lets seee.....one ounce of cheese and an apple (or peach if they're fridge ripened yet)

A quick count says I'm under 2000 cals.

But the important thing is being conscious of what I push in my pie hole.

Back tommorow for more.

Thanks IrishPrincess. And Hi :)

I will not give up. (I might stumble a bit, weeble occasionally, and might even give in to temptation the odd time. BUT I WON'T GIVE UP!) llol

Thanks for the support.

Thanks Sunny. Good to be back. And great to see you are still here as well and infact, looking well.

I have a lot of catching up to do....(but I'll hit your journal first TEEHEE)

Have a great day SunnysunSunflower!

Urghh, stay away from my diary, I've put on ALL of my weight so you'll find no good news there I'm afraid! Back in the saddle, my lovely! xxxx

Sunny - You're still cute as a button. xo

I didn't do to bad eating yesterday....until I went to the cottage. Sitting by the fire....2 drinks turned to 4 or 5 and then roasted a couple of hotdogs and topped it off with some chips before stumbling to bed.

But today was better.....my mind was on fixing a toilet whose wax seal has been a bother for a while. So I tried to fix it...and a 2 dollar part turned ito a 450 upgrade. New piping, flange and toilet.

Now I am beat. But I did well eating. Wasnt too hungry (The only person I know who can eat while working on a toilet is a plummer...them guys can eat a sandwich while working with that crap)

So now its time for a walk with the dogs and a bottle of ice cold fizzy water. Yeah...time to relax.

Cyas tommorow.

Thanks Loch! Good luck on your journey as well.

So this morning found me at 204. Thats 3.2 lbs down since I started here a few days ago. Coincidence?? Maybe. But it is a good feeling to start the day off with.

This year we have a bumper crop of tomatoes....our 6 little beef steak tomoato plants really took off and have produced more tomatoes than I have ever seen before in my life.

And boy are they good. The only downside to fresh tomato plants is they ripen all at once. So for the next two weeks, I will be having tomatoes everyday...guaranteed. Oh and did I mention my 2 cucumber plants also faired as well. So cucumber tomato salad is going to be pretty regular for a while.

At least they are low cal :)

Breakfast today was my regular steel cut oatmeal with some milk and frozen berries.

Snack will be a fruit and some hard cheese.

Lunch will be a can of tuna with some tomatoes ;)

Snack will be another fruit.

Supper.....meatballs in sauce (im going to try and stay away from pasta but if I find some whole wheat stuff, I will have a small portion).

Snack....depends on how much I devour at supper....but possibly some cottage cheese and almonds might hit the spot.

Maybe I'll see 200 by mid September. That would be great.

Take care

Weekends are a killer. Too much booze, too much food and some bad choices too.

Took my wife to see Whitesnake at the casino and ended up eating buffet before the show. It was yummy, but too much food as I always try to make sure I get my monies worth.

The concert was fucking awesome! David still sounds great.

Then we went to the cottage and had a blast with the kids. Lake water s still kinda warm but a few chilly nights will definiely cool the water down soon.

So tomoz is a new day....

We planted 6 tomato plants this year and the plants are loaded...I mean they are like grapes, but the size of baseballs. So lots of healthy salads and toppings there.

The cucumbers are pretty good too, although the plants didnt do as well as the tomatoes.

And the carrots are divine....sweet as sugar and cook in half the time (as compared to the grocery store crap).

So, I'm hoping to eat lotsa veggies, and keep the carbs at bay. I have a 60 hour work week this week and it will be easy to stay on track while I'm there.

205.2 this morning.....not great but considering the weekend, I'm glad its not 225.2

And nows a good time to have a glass of wine. :)

Mmm, wine. Don't tempt meee! All your home-grown veg sounds delicious, I wish I had a garden. Keep up the good work flumeface! xx

Yeah....made gallons and gallons of it last year. It's Shiraz and it turned out pretty good. But you probably don't drink red wine ( :icon_bs:) lolol.

Thanks Ski-B! I got back on track today...but waffled a little when it came to the chips. Darn kids.....if it wasn't for them, i wouldnt buy them, but with kids, ya gotta keep some junk around for them. I didn't eat the whole bag at least....but I put a dent in it :)

Food today was pretty good...

Tomato lettuce sammich for lunch

One med piece of lasagna with small chicken boob for supper (and of course cuc-tomato salad).

One can of tuna with 2 tomatoes for a snack

About a 1/5 of a bag of chips somewhere in there

If I can keep away from snacking for the last three hours of my shift, I'll consider it a fair day. Tomorrow should be better.

Side note....Went to the property (recently purchased 43 acres of bush but possible new home someday) to go for a walk. When I pulled in the driveway, I thought I was lookin at my black dog Stella (but I didn't bring her!) As I got closer, I realized it was a bear, and as I drove even closer....two more appeared! Darn things scattered like the wind when they seen me but I'm sure they freaked me out more than I did them. So...I figured that was good enuff reason to skip my evenin stroll. lol

Have to go back and see if they're hanging around or just passin thru.

Have a great day!

Well...I was off for a couple of days and my food intake sucked. Yesterday I coulda chewed the arse outta a squirrel I was so hungry.

Today started out a bit better...but i found the left over lasagna that was in the freezer and had a piece fit for two.

But dinner tonite will be salad and some diced chicken breasts. AND NO SNACKS! And no dessert.

Also gotta hydrate more.....especially when Im not at work. LAst thing I think about is water....and usually reach for a beer instead.

Oh well....least I'm catching myself.

I am getting pretty active clearing land, which is pretty laborous. Judging by how much I sweat, (and not by how much material is cleared) I say it's pretty calorific.

Check in tomorrow....(with a weigh in to see how bad I've been. :/

Eeek....been a monthish since I've been here. And the weight is a definite indication I need to be back here more often.

208.6 as of yesterday morning.....I knew it. Damn fat creeps back on ya when your not paying attention.

But today is a new day right?

So lets get back intio it...

Cheerios for breaky - not good but not too bad for calories

1 oz of cheese and 2 breadsticks for snack. - again....the cheese was ok but the breadsticks are killer cals.

Lunch - Tuna and an apple. maybe a cup-a soup if I feel still hungry.

Snack - yogurt and a few nuts

Supper - Its Canada Thanksgiving....which means lots of turkey, stuffing, cranberries, potatoes, brussel sprouts and of course, pumpkin pie (with cool whip).

HOW THE FUCK AM I SUPPOSED TO LOSE WEIGHT TODAY?!??!?!? lol

Tomorrows a new day right?? :/

Focus on eating Turkey Breast, and drink LOTS and LOTS of water and eat salad! Ignore the pies! Have a friend help you and force you from eating the goodies.

Hey Flumes

Thanksgiving..that's a tough one. I'd say, minimal gravy, potatoes, sauce and pie....fill up on turkey breast and veg.

But, its the choices you make over days and weeks and months hon....(something I've not been too keyed into lately!!)

Thanks J x 2! lol Unfortunately I couldn't help myself.

I blew it pretty bad.....Sandra (wife) made the best turkey in history, (even the Pilgrims and Indians would have fought over it!). So I had double helpings of turkey...oh and did I mention she made stuffing from scratch...and gravy?? Yup...My weak spots. It was delicious.

But today is a new day.

Cereal for breakfast

1 oz cheeze for snack.

lots of water

5 chicken wings for lunch (eeek)

and supper will be turkey soup. (should be low cal right??)

Tomorrow is gym day. I would have gone today but am stuck here at work.

Have a great day!
