Geetings all,
As I said I'm an Aussie lady living in Northern Washington state near the Canadian border.
I lived in a motorhome traveling around the states for 3 years and during that time I put on a lot of weight as I didn't even have to get up off my chair to get to the fridge. It was a great way to see the country but wasn't a healthy lifestyle for me.
My husband and I have now settled into a house again so we are leading a more active lifestyle now than the motorhome allowed for.
One day I stepped on the scale and scared myself so I decided to do something about it. I bought a treadmill and started walking. 5 minute sessions to start with and now I'm up to 6 to 9 miles a day in 10 to 30 minute sessions depending on my daily scheduled chores. I'm 50 and retired so I'm on and off the treadmill all day.
I started this 3 months ago and have lost 30 pounds. I also cut out all "C" foods which were my favourites. Cakes, Cookies, Chips, Candy, Chocolate and iCe Cream. I started cooking healthier meals and am now eating lots of fruit and veggies. 3 months later I'm enjoying the healthier lifestyle but I do allow myself occasional treats in moderation from time to time. I just don't gorge them down in copious quantities like I used to.
I thought I'd join an exercise forum as I have a few questions so I'm going to do some reading and hopefully learn and share some experiences with others here.
Cheers all
Ann
