Aspiring Six pack

Hello,

I recently turned 14 and I am looking to build a six pack. Since May, I have been training with various swim teams; I am now training 3-4 hours a day in the pool, six days a week.

I have not noticed too many results from my swim practice alone, which is why I come here. I am hoping to find some tips on what I can do to get that six pack. (whether it be crunches, cardio, etc.)

Recently, I have been eating a lot more than I normally do. I do not think twice about what I'm eating, mainly because of all the exercise I'm getting in the pool, and also because of my sudden increase in hunger (hormones!). I'm not sure if I'm eating more than I burn, but that is definitely something I can consider changing. (breakfast: banana, multigrain cereal, milk... lunch: various greasy foods because of my school's poor system, i often end up buying sugary drinks or cookies or nachos or pizza, etc... snacks: pepperidge farm type things such as crackers... dinner: usually a healthier choice but in large portions)

If you have anything to share, it would be greatly appreciated!

Simple: Do ab workouts in addition to your current routine. Doing so will increase the size of your ab muscles which will add more definition to your stomach.

You pretty much have all the makings of a rock hard bod right at your fingertips.

Have you ever seen a fat swimmer? No, you haven't. Its because you are using your ENTIRE body for, like you said, hours at a time. and doing this is keeping your heart rate in the red zone(or so i hope)

6 pack abs are one thing, low body fat. You could go your entire life with out doing a single crunch and still have a 6, or even an 8 pack as long as you have a low bodyfat.

With that being said what is your diet like?

You will need to change this.
However at 14....stay active keep working out and keep up what you are doing. You have plenty of time. Don't be afraid to use it to your advantage.

Everyone has a six pack, you just need to drop the Bodyfat to show it. In other word, eat more fiber and less calories. Your swim time will suck and you will be tired as heck for the first month but you will lean up. Once there, you can eat balanced (intake calorie = burned calorie).

What you are doing right now is balance and possibly growth but not effective to get a six pack. So, choose: 1) be a really good swimmer and probably no six pack or 2) get that six pack but your swim time will suck and you will be tired faster during swim.

something that might be worth noting, the olympic swimmer Michael Phelps consumes between 8,000 - 10,000 calories per day due to the physical demands of his training. take from that what you will
