Hi, i've recently had an operation on my knee. I was getting a lot of pain in my left knee and the doctors recommended a surgery called an arthroscopy of the knee. The doctor made two drill holes in the bottom of the femur bone, he said that it was deformed and that the drilling of the bone would allow it to grow back stronger and in a better shape.
Anyways, i'm still getting a little pain and my knee clicks about 3 times when i almost straighten it so i need to go back to the docs.
In the meantime, i've been going to the gym and doing light weight lifting with my legs and upper body and doing 10 mins on both the treadmill and the stationary bicycle.
What kind of exercises would you guys recommend i try out? I want to get myself a proper regime planned out so that i can track my progress and record how my knee feels. I think that it's just a case of strengthening my muscles and eating a balanced diet. So i've started eating a lot more vegetables which i never ate before, i've also increased the amount of fresh fish i eat, somebody told me its good for the joints. ^^ I'm due back at work 4th january and i'm a roofer, so i need to be in tip top shape ready for some hard graft.
Also, is it worth taking any kind of supplements for my joints? And what supplements would be most suited?
Thanks for any replies, comments and suggestions in advance, Briggzy
