Arnie worked out 28hrs a week!

Just wanted to throw this out there for discusion.

Ive just been reading Arnie's "Education of a Bodybuilder" which was interesting.

The most interesting thing for me was that he trained 2 times a day for 2hours, every single day!!!

Thats 28hrs of weight training a week!!!!

Now, I understand that Arnie had great geans, good bone structure, fast metabolism etc... But how did he get so massive training for 28hrs a week.
This goes againt everything I ever learned. Was he just a strange 1 off to be able to do this? or could anyone with 2-3years under there belt be able to do this sort of training?

I work out about 2 hours a day. I don't buy the 45 min workout crap personally.

It took a while to get to that level, and it's not intentional.. just the time I need to get done what I want to do.

He was on roids too though, so you have to factor that in.

I didnt know that. Its not mentioned in the book

Its his autobiography up to 1976.
it was co written with Douglas kent hall.

If your intrested in finding it the ISBN is 0-671-79041-2

Yeah Ive never been able to get my workout down to 45mins.
With 2mins rest between 5sets, that only alows 4 excercises.
I do stay under 90mins tho, I get way too hungry to work after 90mins.

yes, he has admitted to steroid use in the past.
Check out "Pumping Iron" on video.
Kind of cool...didnt win any Academy Awards

Yeah I got pumping Iron and the book at the same time.

I think body building has really gone down hill since the days of Arnie, Reg Park, Frank Zane etc...

Today you got Jay cuttler and Ron Coleman who are huge but there bodys are just covered in veins, there body fat % is so low that they look gross.

The old skool guys had much better bodies, its was more about the beauty back then, todays its about extremes.

Very true, I like the look of the older body builders much better. But it's about pushing your body as far as it can go, which has moved further than ever.. I feel that if the body builders would tone it down, perhaps even go natrual  (i know it will never happen) that bodybuilding would become much more mainstream..

Eat a cow a day, a gallon of milk daily, tons of roids, not really worry about working and sure...you can pull of as much working out as you want.

I miss the days (not that I ever lived during the times) of Gene Sandow who had incredible strength.
