Are you/would you/have you?

I realize this might not go here, but it's not exactly "off topic", considering it's dealing with weight. And it's not quite "New Moms" so, I figured "on topic" was as good as any.

For those who have children and even for those who don't, would you let your child live the same life style as you had or would you take double care to make sure they grow up learning to eat right and get in exercise?

I've always thought about this and one day when I have kids [I always joke "the day I reach my ideal weight, I'll learn I'm pregnant and start packing on the pounds!"] I have already sworn that my children will not be fat nor "chubby" they will be healthy skinny children! I mean, some weight is okay, as long as they are at a healthy weight. I 100% don't EVER want to put my children through what I've gone/am going through/will go through as far as weights concerned. I don't want to be a health control freak Mother, but I want my kids to be involved in activities and to eat right and learn the importance of taking care of their bodies.

But of course

Morning,

Of course. I have 4 kids and have made it a priority that they grow healthy and know of wise choices as well. I don't forbid snacks, but I do moderate their portions. And they get in some exercise every day, be it DDR, our beloved circle walks, karate, etc.etc.etc.

I think 'walking the walk' is extremely important when raising kids.

My input,

Barbara
