Its just i feel uncomfortable jogging infront of people when im outside as my flab will be going 90!! lol

Thanks in advance

Probably wouldn't burn as much calories over the same amount of time, but it's better than doing nothing/sitting down! So go for it! When I was starting out I used to just pace back and forth inside the house because I was ashamed of just going outside, let alone exercising.

It depends what intensity you are doing it at. I personally find that going outside is way more motivating, and I am more likely to stick to it becuase of the variety if offers. People are so worried about how THEY look that chances are you will hardly be noticed by others except for them to think 'Wow - I wish I could do that!' What I do like for exercise in the home (becuase it adds more variety than just running on the spot) is step aerobics or floor aerobics - I like the patterns and it is very inexpensive - you can even create your own routines if you like! (just remember to keep it balanced)
The key is to get up and move - so if you like running in the house, then that is a good thing to do! Keep it up! :)

Dude get yourself outside the house and go jogging...Dont be self conscious screw what other people think just remember you are doing it for yourself and not them!!

Thanks for the reply, ive read your diary before, extremely motivating!! I remember how she said you walked up and down your living room when you first started out:)

Wow thats cool, im going to attempt to jog outside tomorrow but i have a major problem though, most days when i go for my walk which lasts for 2 hours i have horrible blisters on my feet afterwards. What can i do to prevent these blisters from happening because i can barely walk for the rest of the day when i get them?

thanks in advance

Why are you going for 2 hours? That is really long for a beginner (just curious - if you like it and it works for you, that's awesome!!)
What I have found works great for blisters is I got some special 'running socks' from a running store - soooooo much better!!!! Your shoes my not be fitting you properly - you could also get advice from a running store on what shoes would be most appropriate for you (they watch you walk and ask what activities you will be doing and get you to try on some shoes). Mole skin is another alternative that I have heard about but not tried. The special socks really made a difference for me and they weren't that expensive.

yeah i think im due new runners soon, but i'll leave them act crappy for another while!!

and thanks i'll definitely be buying those socks:) they sound super!xo

As for jogging on the spot, you aren't using your body to push yourself forward, therefore using less energy.

As for the blisters, zinc oxide tape is very good. Amazon sell big rolls for relatively cheap. I use it for kickboxing and have no problems at all anymore with blisters from the floor on my bare feet.

I've jogged in place at home, but have found it to get boring after awhile. I've also used a rebounder and started doing it on that because my floors are concrete and they make my joints hurt. The rebounder is great and fun. But once again, I get bored. I recently started running outside and it really fun. One big thing is that once I start, I can't really stop. If I want to get back home in a decent amount of time, I have to run lol!

I'm by no means an expert, but when I feel like i'm due for some exercising but it's raining/no time for the gym I used my back porch step and step up and down up and down over and over it really gets the heart rate up if you do it fast enough! and no one can see you :)
mind you, i've never tried jogging on the spot ;)
