I'm not a big fan of these 30 day purges, or fad diets. I had my first baby almost a year ago, and am now 30 pounds heavier than I've ever been, per-pregnancy. A new change in my life has finally motivated me to drop these 30 pounds, and maybe then some. My goal is just to cut out the fast food and all drinks, except water. More frequent, and longer, walks with the baby, and some light exercising around the house.

Is this going to be enough? Have any moms had luck just making small changes to diet and exercise? I really don't want to start jumping on all of the latest diet trends and am hoping this is going to be enough. Any new moms out there have any experience losing weight this way?

I'm a new mum. I'm doing the 30 day shred (20 minutes a day for 30 days (with rest days)) and walking more and watching what I'm eating. I seem to be seeing changes without doing any faddy diets or anything x

I've actually been hearing a lot about this 30 day shred. Do I need to buy anything for it? We have no exercise equipment at the house, and going to the gym is just a little to intimidating for me.

As far as I know, you only need a pair of light dumbbells. You can find the first 2 levels (possibly the third one as well) in Youtube for free;

Levels one and two, respectively.

Just make sure to watch your nutrition as well and you should be on the right track. :)

I'll give this a try, thanks. I'm also going to be pretty strict about counting calories. I'm thinking between the exercise and calorie counting, that should be a pretty good start.

I started with small changes. My first we're to limit pop, drink more water, and start eating better then more structured exercise. As I got good at one change I added another. So far so good!

That's pretty much what I've been doing. Cutting out all of the bad calories; pop, beer, juice, etc. The only thing I drink now are water, and the occasional glass of wine (as long as I haven't surpassed my daily caloric intake, or if I went for an extra long walk to make up for it). Counting the calories and exercise seem to be key. No more fad diets for me. I think I may have even talked one of my friends into getting of this horrible fad diet she's on now, and just watching calories and walking with me every day.

Cutting out the fast food and all sugary drinks is definitely going in the right direction! I would also add in more healthy pure foods (non processed food). Have lots of bananas, they are filling and healthy! :)

Hi there! I'm a new mommy to an amazing 9 month old baby boy! I started plexus about 2 months ago and have been able to lose about 8 lbs so far! I really like it! It's given me more energy to keep up with the little one too! Oh and I don't know if any of you have this prob, but ever since I've slowed down on breastfeeding, I've gained like 10 lbs! So I've lost most of that and now trying to lose another 10 lbs. if you guys want info, I can give it to u. I decided to sell it after the results I got personally!

Congrats on becoming a new mom!

I'm a personal trainer and helped my sister get back to her pre-pregnancy weight with short 30 min fitness sessions. Try to get two days of strength and as many more of even walking to start.

You're right not to want to try fad diets. You'll only mess up your metabolism.

This: http://www.choosemyplate.gov/myplate/index.aspx is my fave free resource for learning how to eat healthy for your body. If you search around the site, they also have plans for breastfeeding moms.

My sister didn't use that, but one of my clients did and she was able to lose weight without seeing an impact on milk production :)

Happy to share more info. Just reach out here or find me on my website (link in bio). I'm new here and not sure how the email notifications work yet so I don't want to miss your questions!

To sum: You got this! ;)
