I saw quite a good review of it on the net at a site called . Has anyone tried it?

Sorry Micheal7,

I've not tried Layout 13 diet program myself. Previous pre-bundled "diet" packages have never worked for me either. For example: South Beach ( ) , Idaho Plate ( ), etc. etc.

For my body to drop its previous 60 lbs, I simply starting counting calories. An average body needs 2,000-2,500 calories a day (depending on its physical size and "normal" daily activities at work & play). For each day, I would restrict myself to "average" number of max carbs per meal and snacks. And in parallel, I would implement extra daily exercise as well. Even simple "around the block" walks were done. In the end, 60 extra lbs were gone. (giant smile)

To search each food item and its "average" calorie, I use online CalorieKing ( ). For example, 1 x small read apple = 55 calories. To burn the food away, it would take one of the following: 15 mins of walking , 6 mins of jogging, 5 mins of swimming, or 8 mins of cycling. When I ate the apple, I would "double the exercise time". re: Walk 30 minutes instead of 15 minutes. Thus, forcing my body to burn its extra body fat for 15 minutes.

Source info:

As a suggestion, make your own daily detailed tracking logs (8.5 x11 pad of paper) or use a free online tracker program. Track both calories in and exercise out. Ensure exercise burn is always more then calories in. Over time, your extra body weight will come off. Mathamatically, this method forces your body to burn previously stored fat. Works for me...

Hope this helps your body as well...

.

Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle is Tom Venuto's book and not really a prepackaged diet plan but a way of educating yourself about nutrition and exercise... Making it a lifestyle change and not a diet.

Bottom line is to lose weight, you need to take in fewer calories than you burn up through physical activity. As most of us have acquired bad eating habits over a lifetime, we need to re-program our eating patterns. To be successful, youe lifestyle has to be gradually adapted to a healthier way of living, including eating healthy foods and exercising.

Start off by identifying your eating habits and food abuse triggers and actively develop a strategy to overcome these issues.

Learn how to read food labels, and keep within your daily calorie allowance, making sure it is distributed in the right proportions accross fat, protein and carbohydrate food groups.

I have also had lots of problems losing weight. I have found that a low glycemic diet works the best with lots of weight bearing exercise. The only product that has truly helped me reach my weight loss goals is a product that detoxifies the body and frees it from free radicals. A lot of times the body stores fat in it's toxins. The product is called OPC-3 and it uses the isotonic delivery method. The word isotonic means same pressure - as in, same pressure as your bodily fluids...therefore, it has a very high bio-availability (90% vs 10% in other supplements). It is said to be the most poweful antioxidant on the planet. You can learn more at opc34life.com :)

I've been in that boat.

I did the "1st Personal Diet" and it worked... and if you follow it, works for everyone. Its tailored to your specific blood (not type) your actual levels.

There is also a goup of us on this board in the 'Cohen's Lifestyle' section.

We all know it's a scientific fact exercise is good for the body and soul and along with that masturbation is also "a healthy and natural part of sexuality" according to Columbia University. If you marry sex and exercise together it can be a recipe for a lot of fun! I say this because our show SexArise! (you can google it) is a hit with both men and women (mostly men) for eye candy and a great workout that will help you lose weight, Michael7. There are hundreds of thousands of great weight loss products out there but we haven't seen anything as unique as what we have to offer. I hope this helps!

1. Figure out the calories you need in a day (take your BMR and add 500)
2. Get an account on Fitday.com
3. Record every morsel of food and drop of liquid that isn't water that goes into your mouth.
4. Get at least 45 minutes of exercise at least five days a week.

Rinse and repeat.

There are no quick fixes, there are no magic pills, there is no simple solution. You didn't gain the weight overnight and it's going to take time to lose it. Virtually every single person on this planet that is overweight can attribute it to two very simple things: eating too much and not getting enough exercise. You need to reverse that lifestyle choice to make the weight go away.

Sorry to Hear

Michael7,

Sorry to here about your failed attempts at weight loss.

fazila is correct though. It is a simple formula. You need to burn more calories than you consume.

You can do that in one or two ways. Burn more calories or take in less calories.

In my opinion, counting calories is a frustrating way to go through life. Plus, we need calories to survive. I remember in my chemistry class learning that a calorie is a measurement of energy, which we need to get through the day.

The real trick is to look at the ingredients. By simply elminating high fructose corn syrup from your diet you would be amazed what difference it can make.

My wife recently wrote an article on refined sugar if you feel like reading it.

Also, you didn't mention in your post. They are a really good place for education. Plus, they have a nice online weight tracker. You can join for free and get lot's of goodies. I think if you pay for the subscription they can help you track what's called a "Personality Diet." I read about it and it sounds like a unique idea. They work with you to figure out your lifestyle and configure the diet that works best for your lifestyle.

Good Luck!
