Hi all, I'm Danie. Just found this board today. Not really sure yet where I might fit in but wanted to introduce myself and try to get things going.
I have quite a bit of work to do. I currently weigh 224lbs right now I'm just trying to get under 200 and then I'll pick a goal weight from there. I've been overweight for so long that I don't even know what would be a realistic goal for me.
I have 4 kids the oldest is 9 and youngest is 6months. I had been doing pretty well on weight issues before I got pregnant this last time and now I feel I'm starting all over yet again.
Anyway.......looking forward to getting to know some people here and if anyone has any advice as to where to start on these boards, I'd love to hear it. There seem to be several different groups to check out!

Hi Danie and welcome, looking forward to be updated on your progress. There's a whole bunch to read on here, i'm knew enough as well and still don't think i have gotten around to reading everywhere. You'll be reaching your goals before you know it, people here have kept me going.

Welcome here Danie! :)

Some of us find that starting a diary helps us keep our focus...if you begin, we will be able to check in on you and offer our encouragment, and any help you might ask for!

Thank you all for the welcomes! Didn't have as much time today to look around as I had wanted but I'll get it all figured out!

Hi Danie,
Welcome to the WLF,
And good for you for taking the first (and hardest) steps towards getting fit and healthy!

Thought I would say hello since you left a sweet comment on my diary. :D

Make sure you give your hubby lots of hugs b/c quitting smoking is HARD. I had to do it w/o my hubby b/c he doesn't want to quit. I understand. For years I had little to no desire. Then I just dropped them in under 2 weeks! I've smoked off and on for so many years... before I was old enough to buy smokes even. So give that man plenty of encouragement and tell him to take hot baths when the physical withdrawals leave your muscles weak.

And, oh girl, I know what being pregnant does to your body! I have 2 kids. I was a relatively thin 150 before my first kid, and ended up over 200 lbs by the time I had my second. I weighed 224 lbs when I went to have my last. I left after birth weighing 202. I had a 10 1/2 lb baby, though.

So it's great to see you giving this place a try! There is so much support and so many wonderful ideas here to help you along. I wish you the best of luck!

SoSel
