Another newbie in the house :)

Hi Everyone,


I only have about 15 lbs I'd like to lose and a desire to tone and increase my cardio. However, this feels like a big step for me, as for years I had to denounce any notions of being on a diet or weight loss, due to a history of disordered eating (bulimia). However, I have been recovered for a few years now and feel as though my relationship with food is healthy enough to partake in a structured and *healthy* weight loss regime. I thought that being a part of this board might also help with accountability (ie - support to help me "keep it real").


I'm 5 foot 7, 26 years old, and currently weigh 138 lbs.


My ideal goal weight would be 120 lbs (no lower), but I'm not really strict on that either if I can replace the jiggly parts with more muscle! I would like to be able to accomplish this goal in 6 months.


As for food, environmentally friendly choices are important to me: local and unprocessed. My partner and I decided we would stock our freezer with bison meat this winter, as there is a farm not far from where we live.


My major obstacle will definitely be emotional eating. I don't bow to the porcelin goddess anymore, but I still have moments where I smother my feelings with food ;) For example, I came home stressed from work today and ate three pieces of chocolate cake (yum!).
