It seems to be the same thing every year. I tell myself "Let's start anew". Intensions are good, but I lack the follow through. I told myself this year I would be able to get in shape by teaching my 2yr old how to ski. Unfortunately, here is "ski country" we have no snow, and it's almost January. Thankfully the holiday, and all the "treats" that come along with it, are all most over.
I never really had a weight problem when I was younger, straight through until college. I was always very active in sports and even play college volleyball. However, getting older and living on your own leads to unhealthy choices. After school ended, I started teaching downhill skiing and figure skating and lost almost 50 lbs in 4 months. I felt awesome! After 3 years of seasonal employment, I decided to settle down and get a full time job. This has now lead me to 6 years behind a desk. The weight is packing on. I did manage to do Weight Watchers for 1 year before getting married and lost close to 30 lbs. My husband and I then had our son. I gained 60 lbs during my pregancy, and have taken most of it off, but I'm 185 and5'2" tall. Ideally I would like to lose 50lbs. My husband tries to be supportive, but when you got a "meat and potatoes" husband and a picky 2 yr old - it's hard.
I hoping 2007 will bring a new beginning. I look forward to meeting you all and getting the much needed support - as well as giving it!
