Hi everyone!

My name is Cait. And I'm young. Haha.
I'm 5"2 and weigh 120. To you that might not seem like alot. But if you saw me, you would know I wasn't skinny, but not overly fat either. If I had to I could live with my body the way it is, but seeing how I don't have to, I want to lose a few pounds, and get more fit. I have a very low confidence level, and I'm hoping after this I will be way more confindent.

I've basically come on here to have support, and get some help along the way.

So I'm hoping theres some nice people on here who aren't too judgemental of me.

Anyways, I would love to talk with other people who are trying to lose weight, and get fit, so you can PM me if you would like to talk. :]

I'm going to let you in on something very important.

In order to have more confidence, you don't lose weight. You gain more confidence by finding something meaningful in life that makes you feel good, and gain more self-respect. Then you start taking care of yourself because you have positive feelings about yourself and respect for yourself. You take care of yourself emotionally, intellectually, and physically, and you start to feel better. You find meaning in immersing yourself in your interests. You find meaning in helping others in some way. You find meaning in learning about what fuels your inner fire. You find meaning in learning about the world. You find meaning in adopting a positive attitude about life. You find what you're passionate about, I mean REALLY passionate about, and you pursue and work at that, and you find satisfaction by doing so. Then you feel better and better about yourself until one day you are a confident person who carries themselves well. Try working on the inside first, you'll be pleasantly surprised.

You really do sound young, like high-schoolish? Forgive me and certainly correct me if I'm judging incorrectly or sound condescending, for that's not my intent. But realize that I understand it's hard to be that age, and there is a lot of pressure to look a certain way. In the real world, it's more about how you perform in other aspects of life. You have to prove your competence to make it and thrive out there, it's much more important to work on learning and growing your abilities.

If you are concerned about your weight because you feel you are living an unhealthy lifestyle, by all means see a nutritionist to evaluate your diet, and maybe consult someone at a gym or someone who specializes in kinesiology or sports medicine about starting to work on your fitness. Learn from someone who knows what they're doing how to be healthy, learn what your body needs to perform the best it can, and by all means do not starve yourself or become a complete gym-rat. Find balance in your life and moderate all things.

By the way, I was your size in high school and I want to get down to that weight now. Thinking back, it was a comfortable weight, but I was insecure about myself and we are brainwashed as youngsters to think that being a certain size will magically make us confident and positive, when really to do that you have to look within and believe in yourself.
