Hey Chillen, can I just say you are a genuine inspiration to me. I am also 5ft 7 and come from a pretty effed up childhood (no good parents, no other family, not nice but wont go into this) and like yourself have reached the path where I have tried all my life thus far to self teach and progress the hard but I feel most productive way. I am at a part of my life now where, like you once did, I feel my spirit has been missing for so long now.
Hearing your story gives me tremendous hope, that with hard work, discipline and a little love, we can all achieve anything. Yet again, I know you dont need to hear this, and I don't see any ego within you, but thank you. Seriously... not many people speak so positively and without judgement about everything.
Like a modern day buddah... with abs!
Lee.
I wanted to acknowledge your post.
Thank you for your nice comments, Leeg.
You can do anything that is humanly possible, Leeg.
Remember the comments I made in the other thread. You will drive yourself to the nut farm absorbing opinions on people comparing you to someone else, and thinking the other person looks better.
Everyone's "tastes" can be different from one person to the next, and this opinion on taste shouldn't mean "diddly-squat".
The opinion on taste (within diet and fitness) that should matter: Is your own.
This is the beauty of diet and fitness: You can (within reason) select the goal you want to achieve. And, likewise this can vary from person to person. Most people would give all they have just to be healthy (and looking big and muscular doesn't necessarily mean one is healthy), and is the reason, I believe health (biological and psychological) should be a major priority above the opinion of one's physical-look.
You are the one that has to look in the mirror and be satisfied.
Let me give you an example. There is one woman in this world, I would IN DEED, give my life for, and this is my wife. However, we differ in opinion on what looks good. To day she doesn't like the way my core looks. In a loving way, I told her quite frankly I wasn't changing: I was doing this for me as "part" of the reason I began the quest (back pain and to be healthy, and be in a better position to take care of her as I grew older). Believe me if this woman cannot penetrate my opinion on my personal goals, no one else will. However, she sure does like the endurance of the core, butt, and legs.....so.....whatever.....
You continue to ROCK and make yourself healthy, young man.
Best wishes
Chillen
