ankle

I was playing basketball and i landed on my foot to the side and i hurt my ankle, i heard it crack when it happen. After it happen it hurt a bit but i could still play, but the next day when i woke up it was hurting alot more. any idea how to heal it faster, or what has happend to my ankle
 
It could be 100 different things from pulling a tendon to a fracture.

For now RICE.
Rest. Ice. Compress. Elevate.

If it swells up then there is every chance it is broken. get in for an X-ray anyway. It may seem over the top but you gota look after your ankles.
 
Needing some ankle advice

I have recently sprained my ankle and pulled a tendon - this is the third time I have injured this ankle. I have a feeling it will give me trouble for the rest of my life.
I would like to start to get back into a fitness routine - I am a runner/tennis player - I have been told to avoid both of those for at least 4 months. I don't belong to a gym - any advice for me?? I want to avoid stressing the ankle, but I am really wanting to get in some cardio. HELP!
